1Cheap junk that's way below spec
By JHW
I'd be amazed that this junk has gotten so many positive reviews if I didn't already know from experience that, for most reviewers, the fact that a given cable or charger actually works is enough to give it a 5 star review.

Does this cable work? Yes. If you connect it from your smartphone or tablet to your wall charger wart, it will eventually charge your device.

Will it do it as quickly as a USB 2.0 cable should? Absolutely not.

Many of the current smartphones and all tablets require more than the usual 500mA (0.5 amps) charger to be adequately charged. That's why they all come with 2.0/2.1 amp chargers. The charger is not enough, however. The USB cable connected to the charger must be capable of allowing the device to draw the requisite charge (usually, around 1.8 amps).

These cables are not capable of doing so. I tested them with various charging warts (I have 5-6 of them). Two of the three cables drew only 500mA -- just what you'd get using that old Motorola charger you used with your old RAZR phone or connecting your device to the PC. The third went as high as 900mA, which is still about half of what you need for adequate charging of tablets and newer smartphones. What this means is that your device takes a good deal longer to charge than it otherwise would.

In short, you're not getting what you're paying for here -- a USB 2.0 cable that can deliver the required amperage.

5Good size, good price, good quality
By Richard Newmark
Both ends of the cable are secure and proper size. They fit all of our phones. I have been using them for a few months and have had no problems, even though I sometimes just shove them in my crowded backpack instead of properly coiling.

5Just what I wanted
By Scott A. Coulson
Solid, good price and work great. A bit shorter than I expected, which is both good and bad. Still, for the price these 'reactivated' a bunch of old chargers I have laying around.

5Tested on Playstation 1, 2, and 3 games - it works GREAT on all of them!
By The Matrix Fan
Well folks, now that the dust has settled from the Sony vs. Immersion lawsuit, Playstation 3 owners are finally able to feel the vibe again!

I purchased this controller today and I knew the only way to properly road-test it was on the game that made the Dualshock famous, Metal Gear Solid. After booting up the game, I walked down the hallway and got spotted by a guard. As he shouted, "WHO'S THAT?" the controller jumped in my hand - and I knew this was a smart purchase. As the guards shot at me, I felt the feedback of the bullets, just as I had 10 years ago on my Sony Playstation.

I picked out another old school Playstation game, Tenchu: Stealth Assassins. From Ayame's blades to Rikimaru's sword, each sword swipe and jump had excellent feedback.

Okay, so my Playstation games worked out. But what about my Playstation 2 library?

I popped in God of War, knowing I had to feel the swing of the Blades of Chaos. The controller vibrations felt a little lighter here, but the vibrations still occurred at the appropriate times.

Then I chose Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction. Who better to test a vibration controller than the Sultan of Smash? All the power jumps and smashes had the vibrations intact, but they still felt a little on the light side.

All right, so far I was two for two with my Playstation and Playstation 2 test subjects. But what about my Playstation 3 games? Could I possibly hit a trifecta?

I put in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and I decided to jump right into a heated firefight. The controller gave me feedback while shooting weapons and getting hit by enemy fire, but I knew my purchase was justified when Drake was near death: I FELT THE DUALSHOCK 3 PULSING IN SYNCH WITH DRAKE'S HEARTBEAT. It's one thing to hear that noise and know he's near death, it's quite another to feel the pulse in my own hands.

Okay, so the feedback on the older games was there, but a little lighter than I remember. The reason? Well, when I decided to go wireless on my Playstation 2 system, I bought a Logitec Dualshock controller. It turns out, that controller takes two "AA" batteries, and the vibration motors inside the controller handles are slightly larger than the ones in the Dualshock 3. That's where I felt the difference.

The Dualshock 3 vibrations may be slightly less than the Logitec controller, but it doesn't require the purchase of batteries.
The Dualshock 3 may be slightly heavier than the SixAxis, but it doesn't take up any extra space at all.

Sure, the price is about $15 more than the SixAxis, but it's a worthy upgrade for the Playstation 3 gamer who kicks it old school as well as new school. The only other drawback is the lack of an additional USB cable - but we can use the one that came with the system itself.

So what's the final verdict?

Order it, plug it in, charge it up, and get ready for the inevitable downloads from the Playstation Store to make the older PS3 games Dualshock 3 compatible.

I wouldn't recommend a feedback peripheral without providing my own feedback...

Enjoy!

5Get ready to rumble, even with PS 2 games!
By Sebastian Fernandez
I was already extremely happy with the Sixaxis controller, but I could not resist getting the DualShock 3. Not only do you get the rumble, but also, it feels much better in your hands, even for those games that do not use this feature. The rumble function is fun, but on top of that, it helps with gameplay, because "feeling" what is happening provides a lot more feedback than just watching how your character or car reacts to the environment.

The biggest surprise of all was that the rumble works with PS 2 games in the PS 3 system. I am currently playing through "God of War", a game which had the rumble capability in PS 2. I thought that it was unlikely that I was going to get this feature with this new controller in the PS 3, but it worked perfectly.

I know that having to buy a new controller and basically discard the one that came with the system is not the ideal situation, but I have to say this product is really worth shedding the extra bucks.

5Should've been rumble from the start.
By The Gifted One
The Playstation 2's highly regarded DualShock 2 controller was considered by many to be the best videogame controller of all time. So when you've got a winning design there's no need to change anything. However, because of a legal battle with Immersion over rumble technology, Sony was forced to offer their Sixaxis controller without rumble. The Sixaxis had the same Dualshock design but it felt too lightweight and cheap. Thankfully the lawsuit has been settled and rumble has come back to the Playstation.

For the most part, the DualShock 3 is almost identical to its PS2 precessor. But it has all the features of the original Sixaxis controller in addition to rumble. The controller is still wireless, can be charged by plugging it into your PS3 (or PC), rumble is compatible with all PS1 and PS2 games, and the PS3 supports up to 7 controllers at the same time via bluetooth. Rumble in the DualShock 3 seems more responsive in regards to the location of its vibration depending on which side you get hit on during the games. I don't know if this is something in the design or if it's the developers doing it for the games but I welcome it.

All in all this is currently the best designed controller on the market right now. The PS2's DS2 was incredible so "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here. I'll be enjoying rumble in my PS3 games from now on.

4iPhone 5s versus Galaxy S4 (I've owned both and reviewed them here, side-by-side)
By Steve Morty
My review of the iPhone 5s versus the Galaxy s4 (in case any of you are upgrading phones and trying to decide). Side note: Like Coke and Pepsi, there will be folks that are biased toward one or the other, but my hope is to point out some key differences should it help others in their overall decision making process.

iPhone 5s
-Better native keyboard – more precise and predictive. More natural feel when typing. The auto correct is great on the 5s.
-Siri – Smoother and better voice accuracy. More natural and intuitive. I provide commands (“remind me about the 8am dentist appointment on December 31th”) and Siri understands. If I issued the same command on the Galaxy S4, the voice recognition would be confused and misinterpret.
-The overall Volume of speaker is louder on the 5s than on the Galaxy S4. I can hear the ringer from other rooms.
-In my car and using the speakerphone on the 5s, others tell me the sound quality is night and day compared to the Galaxy S4 (Verizon). When I had my S4 (two different ones), they said I sounded garbled or as if I was talking through a tin can.
-I have yet to experience an application crash on the 5s
-The Camera is quick to snap shots and pictures are sharp
-Availability of iMessage and Facetime. Makes communicating with other Apple users simple. I can see when they are typing a reply back to me, and I can even Facetime in the car or from anywhere without having to download an configure a 3rd party app such as Skype, and then hope the person on the other end had done the same (I have family who are not technology savvy, but easily use Facetime).
-The iOS7 operating system is overall more refined and user friendly (i.e. – you can hold down and click X to delete an application on the iPhone rather than get confused trying to find the Settings/Application submenus on the Android/S4)
-In my area, better overall signal quality / antenna strength. No dropped calls in the same spots I used my S4.

Galaxy S4
-I like having a ‘Back’ button (bottom left arrow)
-The S4 has a larger screen / more real estate
-The S4 camera can lag (would display ‘Processing’ message for 2-3 seconds while images save). Images were often blurry or not as sharp as I had hoped even after adjusting various settings.
-I do like having a removable battery and accessories available with the S4 such as a wireless charger.
-I don’t like having to close various apps at least daily when they lock up/crash (Android Force Close / Process Stopped Unexpectedly errors). This may be more developer related than phone related, however, this does not happen with my iPhone 5s.
-Larger variety of apps. Not as restrictive as Apple in how you can modify and customize your phone (could be both a pro and con). I also like being able to use the Amazon App Store, where you can get a free download each day.

Overall impressions:
For me personally, the iPhone 5s is the way to go. Although the perfect phone, for me, would include combining the best features from both, Apple is the clear winner with regards to the features and functionality that matter most to me.

5Review on iPhone 5s 64GB (Space Gray) - Unlocked
By Michael Kintner
I haven't purchased this product yet but the only thing that I want to say is that about the other people that type up these reviews about it being Unlocked and then when you get it it you can't use it with any other carriers other than T-Mobile or AT&T. This is because the unlocked iPhones are called GSM and these type of phones are only compatible with these carriers plus a few others. Then if you want to use it with any carrier like Verizon, Sprint, etc...You would probably want to get the iPhone 5s 64gb (Space Gray) - Factory Unlocked to use it with these carriers and this is known as a CMDA iPhone. Thank you for your time for reading this if you read the entire thing

5EVGA powerhouse! Strong, silent, quality.
By B-Rad
Another excellent EVGA product. I can't say enough about it. The quality of the materials used are just top notch, and every product works amazingly right out of the box. I never have to worry about anything I get from them. This power supply is no different. Fully modular lets you choose which cables you need, so you don't clutter your case, allowing excellent air flow. The power supply itself is small, fitting into normal sized cases, and aligning with normal air flow systems.

I ran this power supply on a detector the first 3 days of owning it and the voltages, temps, and levels are all way above gold standard. No choppy voltages, no weak rails, no sound, nothing. Just smooth constant power everywhere you need it, with more to spare. If you are running an enthusiast system, do yourself a favor, get an EVGA power supply.

5I need mo-powah!
By M. Chan
Upgraded my gaming rig from a 750W PSU to this gigantic monstrosity of 1300W. With many fans, lights, HDDs, SSDs, fan controller, 2 780 EVGA SC ACX cards, sound card, water cooling, and much more, the EVGA SuperNOVA 1300G2 ensures that your system is supplied with the cleanest most reliable power. This PSU allows you to pull large amounts of power to your components while maintaining its integrity, reliability, and safety while allowing the user to perform intense program operation, open heart surgery, and high-octane gaming without a hiccup. As a professional gamer, I never skimp on my power supplies. I always want that peace-of-mind that my components will have adequate and reliable energy supplied to them at all times. If you are in the market for a machine that will run 2 or 3 SLI cards, this is the PSU for you.
