1Not worth the time or the money
By eq
I ordered 5 packs (50 total) of these flash drives for students at my school to save information for a project.

1 - They took longer to arrive that originally estimated, despite the fact that I paid for expedited shipping.

2 - I only received 45 total flash drives (the shipment was short 5 flash drives). When I contacted the seller (TigerDirect.com), they told me either I would have to return the entire order and have it re-shipped, or contact the manufacturer. Does it make sense to return 45 flash drives to get 5 that are missing? SO frustrating. I still do not have a resolution and I still do not have my 5 flash drives.

3 - Of the 45 flash drives I DID receive, 4 of them did not work. 10% of what I ordered is defective. But then, I would have to return the ENTIRE ORDER to have these replaced.

Don't waste your time or your money. Go through a wholesale flashdrive distributor that can provide you with better service, accurate orders, and a quality product. You might pay a little more, but you'll be happier in the long run.

1Looks OK until you actually use it
By cmltsang
I've ordered this product a month prior to I actually use it. Seller refused to refund now.
My experience was that after I stored some files into a flash drive, when I wish to retrieve it from another computer, it pop up with a "format drive" request. My technician said if I click "Yes", all files stored would be erased. If I click "No", it does not help me to open the drive. Still I cannot retrieve it.
It may not happen to all of the 10 pieces. I used 3, one of them showed it. I'm worrying when the other 2 will have the same problem. I cannot give my client something unrealiable.
I'm seeking a manufacturer return/replacement now.

5Does the job it is designed for...
By TJackson
I bought this drive for my office. Several people use them, and not one has ever complained to me about them. We simply plug in the drive and upload files. Then take them where ever we go, or hand them out to whoever needs the information. Two thumbs up!

4Samsung Second Generation 4k UHD - I Am Weak - I Had To Buy
By Carter H
This is the best picture quality of any TV I have had. It is a 4K TV and even though there isn't any 4K content yet without getting movie on a hard drive and paying out the nose. This Samsung upscales the content up and it looks pretty darn great. Noticeably sharper then others that I looked at. The sound is also very good. There are plenty of smart features and internet hookup without having any external devices like Roku, Apple TV. Upconverts any source inputted. Samsungs latest backlighting technology.

I bought the TV for the picture quality not really for the 3D. Most of the smart features are just extra pluses.
It does a decent job of upscaling the HD content, but remember it is trying to upscale from HD to near 4K and the information is just not there for it to do real 4K. It, for the lack of better terms, makes a guess on what 4K should be. That withstanding it does guess well, and will offer a better picture than standard HD, just not UHD so expect that. Samsung isn't talking about what the specs are for the up scaling at the time of this review.

Pros:
1. Excellent color and sharpness. Also controls to can easily adjust the picture to any way you wish (moe color saturation, less saturation, sharpness, brightness, etc) Lots of smart features I am still learning.

2. Excellent sound upgrade from standard HD Samsungs. For the price it should have good sound huh.

3. Watching Lord Of The Rings On This Will Make You Cry

4. 3D works great and comes with four sets of glasses.

Cons:
1. Dialog box pops up telling you that you can use voice controls. This is very distracting and I don't need the a dialog box on the TV to pop up to tell me this. Its in the instructions booklet. It doesn't happen very often- but it is annoying. You can disable this but it takes some time to dig through the screens until you are there.

2. Heavier than standard HD versions of Samsungs, like the 8000. Good info for those mounting on wall.

3. No Content to justify early adopter purchase price.

4. Friends watching Lord Of The Rings (Also crying picture is so good) begain plotting to take "Precious" from us.

There is just nothing to watch right now and the prices of these 4K sets are going to drop at least another 500 just like when the HD sets came on the scene. Plus the 4k technology will most likely get better when they decide just how the content is going to be implemented. On the upside Samsung uses what they call a Hub or One Connect box so if content inputs get better you can just replace the hub box instead of kicking yourself that you have to get a new set.

I tried the Netflix 4K streaming and it's a mixed bag at this stage. Some of the nature documentaries look like 4K and some look more like 1080P.

The UHD dvd players are coming so if you have this Samsung you will be ready from day one. I think even the xbox is going to offer 4k content when connected. Does have a superior picture than non UHD tv's. Its just gonna cost ya a little more brother. I had to have it. I couldnt wait. My current tv died on me and I had to do something. The only thing I could rationalize, being addicted to great new technology, was to go into debt to feed my habit. I am so ashamed at my weakness.

In all seriousness:
My suggestion is if you must have the latest 4k tech then here it is. Much better than Sony especially with their no customer service. The LG's do look good, just not this good.

UPDATE 4-25-2014

Ok there has been a big controversy on whether this model comes with a one connect box or not. You get a different story everywhere. Found a Samsung training representative who spent two hours educating me on every 4k tv on earth and what was what. One Connect; 2013 version of this model had the external One Connect box. 2014 version of this model has internal One Connect with no external box. When One Connect technology is updated you can get the external box and it overrides the internal to keep everything cutting edge. He said samsung is supporting One Connect for a guaranteed four years to guard against your tv becoming obsolete. I asked him about the 1080p to 4k upscaling. He said yes it does a good job at kicking up standard HD better than Sony or LG, but if you want to see something great, get a 4K bluray player, then he drug me around to show what it could do. It was very impressive. He shared a story about the 9000 which requires an external One Connect box to opperate as all the technology is in the box and the tv is basically a monitor, said stores all over the place are misplacing the boxes when they move a tv and have all these dead big screens everywhere. This TV is a keeper.

5You get what you pay for!
By BROMER
After seeing this in person at the local Best Buy, I decided to take the plunge and bring home the 65" UN65HU8550 on 04/16/14. Setting up the TV was easy, although two people were needed to lift this beast onto the stand. The setup menu was easy to navigate, and the system update only took 7 minutes over wifi.

The picture has got to be the best I've seen! I'm not an A/V diehard, but I know when a picture looks vibrant and I can spot the issues. I ran my own personal non-scientific tests using Disney's Planes on a Sony BDP-S590 blu-ray player and the picture was fantastic. The level of detail was second to none, and there was no motion blur to speak of. During the scene where Dusty is flying in the thunderstorm at night, the black levels were the best I've seen on an LED tv--they looked like they would on a top-level plasma. The picture showed no light bleed or clouding during the lightning strikes, and the detail stayed crisp throughout. Test #1 passed with flying colors.

I then tested the 3D with the previously mentioned blu-ray player using Star Trek: Into Darkness 3D. The tv comes with four sets of active 3D glasses. Again, setup was a breeze as it literally took pressing one button to pair the glasses with the tv. Watching Star Trek, I ran the scene where the Enterprise is battling with the Dreadnought in outer space. Overall the 3D was impressive. Some level of detail was lost on background objects in most scenes (as is expected when watching 3D), but the detail on objects that were the main focus of the scene were above & beyond better than I expected. You could literally count the hairs on Captain Kirk's head, in 3D no less! Again the black levels were fantastic and colors seem true to life. 4K was not tested as there is virtually no content out there yet.

Pros: The picture quality is a huge plus on this TV. Oddly enough, the embedded speakers weren't half bad for the short time I had them on (not too "tinny" with decent mids and highs). Of course, if you're spending this much on a tv, you probably have a halfway decent sound system to run it through and won't use the speakers anyway (I know I won't be using them).

Cons: The TV does not come with a One Connect box. All the online literature makes it look like it has one, but what it is really saying is that it is compatible with the One Connect for upgrades in the future. The owner's manual confirms this. Also, there is no camera for the gesture control--it is also sold separately. By no means are these deal breakers, just trying to clear up those items.

Overall, if you spend the money on this thing, you'll be impressed.

5Awesome TV you will love it but set it up!
By FALCON
I am not affiliated with Samsung or CNET.
[Side Note: I believe Samsung should provide free 2014 One connect boxes to F9000 owners because of the H265 codec and HDMI 2.0 as a gesture of good faith toward early adopters.]

This review will help you get the most out of your HU8550.

I am posting here because some people badmouthed and down rated the Samsung F9000 because they did not know how to use it. I do not want the same thing to happen to this excellent TV. I have last year's top-of-the-line F9000 4K model which is virtually the exact same TV as this, released just over 5 months earlier.

I cannot believe how absolutely amazing the picture is. It's colors explode, it's blacks are black, it's whites are white, flesh tones are real, and all of it is super sharp. With newscasts or interviews, people look like they're sitting right in front of you. Aerial shots of cities will blow you away. You cannot ask for a better picture. And that's not just my opinion, read all of the professional reviews. Every single one of them love this TV.

Do not worry about 4K content not being available. This TV upscales. Go to Samsung .com and check the US news section. I quote it in the comments section. The upscaling works fantastic with anything in HD (1080P). It also works with SD material but not as well. I can honestly tell you that I do not want a sharper picture than this. You can see every facial feature including eyelashes. Blu Rays and 4K YouTube's will make you cry.

Any person giving this TV anything less than five stars reveals their own foolishness, or they got a weird factory defect. BUT you have to set it up, and if you are a newbie to electronics you have three options.
1. Learn how to set it up and enjoy i. It is very easy.(I will help you in this post).
2. If you're too lazy, don't buy a piece of high-quality electronic equipment like this. You don't deserve it.
3. Pay someone to calibrate it for you. Actually that's a waste of money because in 20 minutes you can do it yourself with this post. You can make this TV look anyway you want it to look. Which is why comparisons in stores is superfluous unless you make all settings equal.

Out of the box the picture looks disappointing , that's Samsung's fault, although most manufacturers do the same thing for the stores. When I first turned on this TV it looked like a soap opera or documentary. I knew this was not right.

The first thing you have to do is go to the System menu and find the Eco-Solution Submenu and turn OFF the accursed eco-saving feature and eco-sensor. I already printed the professional review I read on CNET for the F9000. They have some people there that are among the best in the industry. A professional named Katzmaier uses $30,000 worth of equipment to calibrate these TVs. Don't know if I can post links here, so search for CNET's HDTV picture settings forum forUN65f9000 or HU8550-a bit early for this as of this date.

However, there's one problem with their settings. They calibrate their TVs in a dark room. Therefore their brightness levels are way too low. They acknowledge this, but it is a necessary starting point and equalizer for the different models. No problem, use Samsung's default settings for your Backlight, under the Movie setting(12). It worked great with gamma at +1. The first thing you want to do is set it to Movie mode. Play with other modes later.

---------------------

The settings I'm about to list are based on Katzmaier's (get them and print them out) with some tweaks of my own. I went between his and the defaults, that's safe. If you set your TV to these, you will love the picture. If not, tweak it for yourself somewhere between his settings and the defaults.

It is very easy, so don't freak out. If you can turn your volume control up and down you can change your settings. The settings have a combined effect, so do not just do one area.

How to set a fantastic picture and remove Motion blur:

Picture menu - I use all Samsung's defaults for Movie mode with a slight color tweak

mode: Movie - the most important change.
backlight: 12 - CNET's setting of 7 is way too low unless you are in a dark room. We use lamps at my house. Backlight is the main brightness control

contrast: 95 -
brightness: 45 - leave this alone
sharpness: 20 - CNET setting of 0 Is Way too low, especially for a 4K TV
color: 52 0r 53 - a slight tweak over 50 that will give you more of a richer plasma TV quality
tint: 50/50 - leave this alone

I discovered the real trick for getting the correct lighting level for your room is to work with gamma and backlight, not brightness. Samsung's default is 45 for all modes, and it's right.

Advanced settings submenu
dynamic contrast: off
flesh tone: zero
RGB only mode: off
color space: custom - there is a submenu for this below.

White balance: see below.
10 P white balance: - you don't need to mess with this.
Gamma: +1 this is an important setting and affects the entire picture, not just contrast.
Expert pattern: off
motion lighting: off
black enhancer: off

Color Space Submenu
I recommend keeping everything at default rather than using the ones from CNET. However, I do not like the cold picture of LEDs as compared to plasma or my old Pioneer elite 98 which had the best picture ever in its day and even for today except for sharpness. Therefore I change the blue setting to this:
blue: red 2, green 2, blue 46. Not drastic changes over 0, 0, 50 but it's warmer.
And change the yellow setting to have less blue than the CNET setting
yellow: red 50, green 50, blue 6 (Katzmaier had blue at 14)

White Balance - use all of the Katzmaier's settings: 25, 24, 22, 23, 24, 26

Picture Option Submenu -
color tone: warm 2 - important, this also gets rid of the cold blue LED effect
digital clean view: off
MPEG noise filter: off
film mode: auto one
auto motion plus: custom. Make sure you change it to custom.
Smart LED: high

Auto Motion Plus Submenu. Numerous sources recommend these to remove motion blur.
blur reduction: 10
judder reduction: 0 yes, zero
LED clear motion: - not much visible difference either way. Leave it on if you increased backlight to the default.

System Menu. As already mentioned go to the eco-solution submenu and shut off energy-saving and eco-sensors. They will knock your picture into dismal oblivion at will.

---------------------------
Complaint Section
1. Samsung - Stop defeating your own purpose with the horrible original settings

2. People do not want the ridiculous hand controls that only work half the time at best, or the worthless voice controls the get activated by the TV program you're watching. Thanks for the great picture though, stick with what matters.

3. Your privacy policy stinks. I want to be able to mirror my TV to my tablet and cell phone without doing your lousy Samsung All Share that makes me agree to privacy policies that promise you you have NO privacy, and sit a Samsung representative in your living room every time I watch the TV. NO Thanks.

*** In all fairness to Samsung, the Smart View app in the Android Play store (probably Apple too)does let you wirelessly stream content from the TV to your device (phone tablet,...)and use it as a remote. To wirelessly have content from the phone go to the TV, use the Source button at the top center of the remote and go to Mirror, then go to your settings menu on the phone and activate screen mirroring. You do not have to register with Samsung for these features.

Why you should get this TV
1. Best picture of any TV on the market. I sometimes pause the TV just to look at it.

2. It is future proof. Because it is 4K, the screen is capable of outstanding resolution for a long time to come. There's another great benefit - the Evolution kit. This TV write up by Samsung and thus Amazon is unclear. It has the evolution Kit but NOT the One connect box. To get it, you have to get the HU9000 model which costs more money, and has a useless curvature feature which is only on the 9000 model. However, the write up infers One-connect future upgrades. My guess is that they will upgrade this unit and all 4K units with one One-connect for all, but see below.

3. It really looks elegant.

What about this new 2014 8550 compared to last years 4K F9000?
Hurry and get the F 9000 before they sell out. Amazon's price and service are both good and you save around $500. The picture, CPU, memory, everything will be the same as the F9000 which is only six months older, and clear motion rate is the same. Its true. HDTVvs.com has a comparison and the main difference is the smart hub software. You can save $500.00 and get a 4K blu-Ray with the diff.

However, F9000 has two advantages. The One-connect box is a seperate unit that houses the CPU, memory, main board, firmware, and smart TV software. This is better than the evolution kit in the HU8550 because the connectors are also replaceable, and heat is kept separate from the screen. A true One connect box is still on the H9000If you know anything about computers or electronics, you know that the CPU, memory, and motherboard generate the most heat. The one connect box separates from the screen itself and you have less cable clutter as well. Mine is a few feet under the screen. The One-connect box is a genius idea that Samsung should employ for all of its TVs, and so should every other manufacturer of high-end TVs. The 8550 is "One connect ready" for future updates but for now its evolution kit is on the TV.

Although the 8550 model does do 4 screens, this is not with 4 channels, but 4 different inputs. Which isn't really needed. Updates to Smart hub are superfluous compared to the F9000.
Another thing. The base is nowhere near as stable or as cool looking as the arch base on the F9000.

Bottom line: If you can still get the F9000 do so, but both TVs are spectacular; I mean literally amazing. Be sure to set it up right and anyone you show this TV to will pick up their jaw off the floor. You will love the picture and the features. You will also save big time over the HU9000 with its gimmick curved screen.

1I suggest the Seidio Obex instead
By Chris
When I found out about the Lifeproof case for the S4, I waited for it to be released because I knew how awesome the iPhone 4 and 5 cases were. The only other waterproof case for the S4 was the Seidio Obex. I finally got the Lifeproof Fre from Lifeproof directly shortly after it was released. I had so many problems with it. The build quality is extremely odd, and you can't even feel the buttons on the phone anymore. I couldn't hear music well through the speakers, and I could not understand people on the phone, and they said I sounded underwater and terrible when the case was on. Bottom line is that this case makes the calling part of your phone almost useless. It also greatly muffles the sound quality, and in my opinion the build quality is not that great.

After returning the Lifeproof, I purchased the White and Gray Seidio Obex. That case is infinitely better. I compared it to my girlfriend's iPhone 5 White and Gray Lifeproof, and they are so similar. The Obex is even better quality than her iPhone 5 Lifeproof. The sound is amazing, I have no issues hearing music or people on calls, and they have no issues hearing me. The case feels sturdier, and it also is much easier to take on and off. If you are looking for a quality waterproof case for the Galaxy S4, don't get the Lifeproof. You will just be disappointed in the end, just like me.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

P.S. I don't mean to make this sound like I work for Seidio or got a free case from them. I paid for my Seidio case and am in no way affiliated with them. I just want to save others the hassle of buying the Lifeproof and having so many issues, as I did.

4A few minor but tolerable issues on an otherwise great case.
By J Loomis
I've had this case for about a week now and, having toyed around with it and read the other reviews I've made a few discoveries. These may be unique to my own experience, so bear that in mind.

I'll start off with the case design: I love the look of it. It's noticeably smaller than my previous Otterbox Defender case, and I like the fact that the home button is enclosed. The Otterbox's screen protector left this button open and, as a result, dust would get underneath the screen protector and make a mess of everything. The complete enclosure of this case prevents this from being an issue. I also like how the back of the case is clear, although I'm sort of concerned of what would happen if I dropped the phone onto a pointed object. All of the buttons function as they should with no issue, and the screen is perfectly responsive. I have noticed that hitting the back and menu buttons requires more precision due to the size of the center button's enclosure, so this may be an issue for those with larger fingers.

In terms of call quality, I noticed the same sound distortions as other reviewers from the earpiece. I also noticed, however, that turning down the volume helped immensely. I have the earpiece volume set to around 20-30% and the sound comes through clearly enough to be understood easily, and at an audible level. Before this case I had the volume set around the 70-90% mark and still found myself frequently saying, "Huh?" and, "What?" Regarding the microphone, nobody I've spoken to has had any trouble understanding me when using the phone normally. I have been told that when using it on speaker mode that it sounds like I'm speaking underwater, but I have no issues hearing them. I don't use speaker mode that often so this isn't really a problem for me. Regarding ringtones, games and music, the rear speaker comes through clearly with very little distortion, and I have no volume issues.

Regarding the case's protective qualities, I have found no issues at all though I haven't tested the limits. I have done the mandatory take the phone in the shower test and the phone remained completely dry and functional. I have dropped the phone from waist height (around 4 feet - I'm tall) and the phone took no damage, and the case shows no evidence of being dropped. Lastly, I bought the case at the beach and the case and phone have returned safe and sound to my home with no signs of sand, which cannot be said for my car, shoes, or luggage. However I did not go out of my way to expose my phone to the sand. As I briefly mentioned earlier, this is much better than my old case as the dust would get in under the screen protector from the home button, which rather defeats the purpose of a screen protector if you ask me. Also, don't forget that Lifeproof offers a warranty not only on the case, but on the phone itself should it be exposed to water if you opt for the total water protection program.

A few other minor notes - I noticed the o-ring on the included auxiliary cable is not very keen on staying where it should be. This cable is also very difficult to get in and out of place. I'm a little concerned about the durability of the auxiliary port cover due to the material and the thickness of the piece it attaches to. I'd much prefer a similar design to the charging port. Verizon's car charger with the touch-sensitive LED will NOT fit into the charging port so it's possible some other charging cables won't fit either, but the factory charging cable fits perfectly fine. Finally, I've noticed that my thumb knuckle tends to hit the home button whenever I open the charging port, but this is just me being nit-picky and hardly has any relevance to the performance of the case.

All in all, I like the case. It's not perfect but if I had to guess it will be improved further from the time I write this review. The problems are for my purposes completely tolerable, but ultimately it's up to you whether the benefits justify the price in spite of the drawbacks.

1DO NOT BUY-- Callers can't hear you
By Ryan B.
The case is waterproof. That's good. It is slim, that's also good. But when I try to call someone with the case on, they can't hear me at all. On speakerphone, they can barely hear me, but they say they hear echoes. This is not acceptable for a case I paid $80 for. I called Lifeproof, and since I had already tried the "trick" where you blow really hard into the microphone, which didn't work, they told me to ask for a replacement from Amazon.

2Disappointed
By cortdawg
I wish I didn't buy this armband. I needed it ASAP because i got the galaxy and work out everyday so I ordered this one. It does the job, however, there are three things i don't like about it:

1) the buttons are incredibly hard to use when it is on your arm, i pretty much have to put my finger inside of the case to turn the screen on, turn volume up or down

2) i sweat through the band and I hope this doesn't affect my phone

3) it is difficult to take the phone out because it sticks to the plastic cover

If these three things wouldn't bother you then I would recommend it. It does it's job but with user difficulties. I will definitely be buying an alternative and trashing this one.

5keeps phone secure
By Erik
Phone is very safe and secure with this armband. I can use it with any of my cases attached. Keeps phone dry, screen very functional. I wear it on my forearm I just prefer it that way, it's got 2 slots so it should work on the forearms or biceps for most people. Samsung Galaxy S4

5Love it!
By OBrule
I love this case so much! It's the only sports case I have so I don't have much to compare it too. But, the headphone plug in is easily accessible, it doesn't get weighted down with sweat, and the fabric is soft. I highly recommend if you want to listen to music or just have it on you while you are running or walking.

1Beware not all sellers providing genuine Canon batteries
By W. Stohler
I paid $56 for what I thought was an OEM battery (manufactured by Canon). The battery pack I received appeared to be genuine, except for the following characteristics:

1. The battery strength meter in the camera goes from fully charged (all bars) to a flashing red "change battery" icon with no reduction in bars. This is an indicator that the battery pack is not genuine Canon.
2. The battery pack only lasts ~200 pictures with flash (the OEM pack lasts something like 450).
3. The writing on the pack is blurry and not as dark as the OEM battery.
4. The seam of the case on my battery has some warbles at the seam; the OEM battery does not.

Caveat Emptor (buyer beware)!

1Bait and Switch
By Kindle Customer
Don't buy this item unless you want a cheap, imitation battery. It is not a Canon battery and will not perform as it is advertised. I purchased this battery based upon the photograph which depicted the product as being a genuine Canon battery. I have two others, so I know what they look like. The product sent to me was an inexpensive imitation, not an original Canon Battery. In reading other reviews, I see that this seller made this substitution before. This is consumer fraud. I have attached a photo of the comparison between the original Canon battery which I own, and the substitution provided by this seller.

1I can't believe Amazon would sell a fake!
By Anonymous
There is a first for everything! I just received a battery from Amazon as a seller (I paid $10 more assuming that Amazon wouldn't risk its reputation to sell Chinese junk) and I received a battery today. It arrived in a plastic baggie, scotchtaped with a hair on it. I compared it to the original battery that came with my camera and as you can see from uploaded pictures, obviously this one is a fake. For $44 bucks I can buy 10 fake ones on the "auction site". I'm so disappointed. It's going back.

5Great automatic duplex color laser printer
By Landon Bradford
Was looking for an automatic duplex color laser printer for the fiancé who is in med school. Last year, she printed over 10,000 pages. It's important she has color so she can see the details of the anatomy or cardio diagrams she has to print out. She used to have a color Brother 3045CN but there was no auto duplex mode (sucks the paper back in and prints on the other side). She had to manually refeed the paper in to print on the other side and at times would make errors because she put in the wrong way. There goes 20 sheets of paper in the recycle bin. and I realized she needed a better printer.

This printer is amazing. Has great color and auto duplex works like it should. If you know how to setup a router to have wifi password, setting up the wifi on the printer shouldn't that difficult. When you first plug it in, (no need to plug it into a computer or anything), it'll ask you to setup WLAN. Press ok, find your wireless network name, press ok, put in password, press ok, done. Now all the macbooks, windows, iphones, and ipads in the house can print wirelessly.

My only complaint is the starter cartridges that came with it. Like how most printer companies make their money, this printer decided to stop working because the black toner was low. I checked printer status and it shows it printed 600 pages of black! That's it for a starter cartridge?! It refuses to print unless I change the cartridge! I searched online and figured out how to reset the cartridge making it think it has a new toner inside. What you need to do is lift up the top cover and leave it unhinged. Simultaneously press the Secure and the Cancel button at the same time (with top cover open). You will see option to choose which toner you want to reset. Select the one you want, press okay and press the + to confirm reset. Done. Now you can keep using what's left in the toner cartridge which in my case had at least 50% left.

As for refills, this is going to be a tad more difficult than typical Brother cartridges. You are going to need to drill a hole a size of a dime on the top of the cartridge and then pour the ink in. Use same tape to cover up the hole you make. No need for resets gears or any of that. Just do the same procedure as above to reset it and your good to go.

All in all, I'm happy with my purchase. If you print a lot and need decent color printing (not photo quality) and want to print wirelessly, this is the printer to get.

4Read this before you buy toner!
By cheineking
Great printer, but the toner life is based (as far as I can tell) solely on pages printed. So if you print x number of pages even with only a single dot of color on it, the printer will count that as a page printed in that color. My starter black toner quit after 250 pages.

Here is how to fix this - open the top of the printer, then simultaneously press the "Secure" and "X Cancel" buttons. This will put the printer into a special service mode. Use the + and - buttons to scroll to whichever toner you want to reset. Each color should have three options which, I believe, allow you to tell the machine what type of 'new' toner cartridge is installed. I think "Y.TNR-STR" is yellow cartridge standard, "Y.TNR-HC" is for the high yield yellow cartridge and "Y.TNR.STD" is for a standard yellow cartridge. Once you've selected the cartridge you want to tell it you're installing hit the "OK" button and will get an "OK reset cancel" type screen. Hit the up arrow to reset. Now you're back to printing in style!

Replace your toner cartridges need to be replaced, not when it tells you to.

5Very well worth the money
By Mark Twain
I bought this model when it has 20% off sale (not Amazon sorry), so I was pleased with its quality and value. Two functions caught my attention when I chose this model, besides being a color printer, the duplex and the AirPrint.

Laser color printer will be useful for kids projects and commercial announcement that I was looking for a long time. I am tired of Samsung's high cost on toners and poor durability so anything buy Samsung will be good for me this time around.

So far so good: the Wi-Fi setup was easy without any intervention: all I need was to press the WPS button on my Cisco router and it is done. No password needed. The duplex works, but need good papers. The initial print time is not a concern for me at all: none of the 4 laser printer works fast on the initial page anyway.

The AirPrint works with iPhone and iPad, which solved my long struggle of frustration. I have to say to Apple though: silly ideas of lacking any control.

Though the initial toners are meant for "starter" the counter built in still show a regular toner capacity. Only time will tell what it is.

The down side for color laser is the cost of toners: you need to replace 4 toners and the waste pan and another something from time to time, which cost more than the printer itself. I already picked up spare toners at about $60 each on-line so the total cost for 5 years is $500. I can accept that.

Another point I need to point out is the weight: just heavy and bulky. But I am glad to finally find a spot for it.

Finally I have to say to Brother about their menu design: poorly designed and hard to master.

5I LOVE this case!
By Emily
I would definitely recommend this brand and style. It came on time, pretty, fits very good, and fits cards very well. I also love how it has a button for the flap instead of a magnet, I am always worried about the magnet affecting my phone. But this case would be GREAT for a mom that does not have enough room in their diaper bag for a wallet! This case is definitely worth the little bit of money(:

2Quick shipping, not a quality product!
By Pen Name
The shipping was very quick. The ETA was Wednesday, April 16, 2014 - Thursday, April 17, 2014 but it arrived yesterday, April 15th.

The outside/wallet area is nice. The color is pretty, looks a little better in the picture but not bad in person. My biggest issue is that the plastic case that holds the phone into the wallet case is glue onto the wallet and not very well either, the corner of mine is already coming apart after 1 day! Will be returning but would not recommend this product. I wanted to love it and I did but it's not worth the money.

4LOVE THE CASE
By athena ford
I love the case and color. it is very convenient to have the kickstand / fold over option.

the only thing that is not good is the snap in button. it does not work well.
A magnet would have worked much better.
Also, i have only had the case for 2 weeks and the strap has already broken.
not the best quality

i would not buy again however I generally like the design.

5The Sony BDP-BX110: Outstanding Value At This Price Level
By One-Shot Scot
The Sony BX110 is the best non-3D Blu-ray/DVD player that I have seen, anywhere near its price range. It takes 15 seconds to load Blu-ray disks, which took around 2 minutes to load in one of my earlier Panasonic players. A couple of Blu-ray disks (The King's Speech and Casino) would only load in this Panasonic player if I unplugged the Internet connection. Eventually, a firmware update came along which allowed loading of these titles, but they still loaded very slowly.

The owner's manual that came with the BX110 lists two Sony models in its title: BDP-S1100/BX110. However, the two models appear to be identical other than their different nomenclature. According to the owner's manual, the only difference between these two models is that the BX110 comes with a "High Speed HDMI Cable."

The Sony BDP-S1100/BX110 is not WiFi capable, nor is it WiFi ready. The only way to connect this player to the Internet is through the use of a LAN cable. When using a LAN cable, this player connects to the Internet quickly and produces fast and accurate streaming content. With Comcast Internet, the player quickly set itself up through the use of its Auto settings.

My previous experience with all-in-one Blu-ray players has found their Internet streaming capabilities lacking. This was not a problem for me because I have a Roku 2 XS for my Netflix and Amazon streaming videos. I assumed that this Sony player would be no exception and that its Internet streaming capabilities would not be good. But I registered the player with Netflix and Amazon just to see if it would actually play streaming video with any degree of accuracy. (By the way, the player has the ability to erase all personal data from its internal memory should ownership of the player ever be transferred.)

To my surprise, this player does an excellent job of streaming both Netflix and Amazon content. No dropouts, no stuttering and no lockups. The Sony streaming video interfaces are slightly different from those of the Roku, but they are very intuitive and easily learned. I couldn't be happier with the performance of this Sony player's streaming video performance.

This Sony player quickly loads both Blu-ray and DVD disks and when the Auto function is used, it plays both Blu-ray and DVD disks in 24p mode. The remote control system is very sensitive and the player responds quickly and accurately to all commands. The player allows faster loading of Blu-ray disks by allowing the BD Internet Connection to be shut off. I have shut off this feature because I have found nearly all BD Internet content to be a complete waste of time. There is also an optional Quick Start Mode which allows Blu-ray disks to load faster.

One of the audio settings of the Sony player was somewhat confusing to me until I did some research. The BD Audio MIX Setting when set to On produces a multi-channel PCM signal only, presumably adding alternate soundtrack information to the main audio program. When this option is set to Off, the primary soundtrack comprised of various audio types, such as Dolby Digital Plus, DTS HD and True HD are available. I set this option to Off.

A USB input on the front of the player allows the playback of MP4, MP3, WMV, JPG pictures etc., (those are the only formats that I have tried so far) and the USB device is also used to store BD data in a "buda" file, which the player can delete on demand.

My Pioneer receiver has the ability to correct lip sync problems through the use of an audio delay setting. The Sony player did not need any audio sync correction and the HDMI audio signal arrived at the receiver perfectly synchronized with the video. At least that's my assumption, because the Sony player, Samsung TV and Pioneer receiver may all be working seamlessly together. There could still be lip sync problems with other combinations of playback equipment. However, since player also has the ability to do an Audio/Video sync from 0 to 120 msec and the default setting is 0 msec.

Notes:

There is a coaxial digital audio output jack in the back of the unit -- a feature that is becoming rare in entry-level Blu-ray players. I did not check the digital audio output for possible lip sync issues.

Once the Internet connection was established, the player offered to update its software version to M14.R.0093 and this update was accomplished quickly.

The player generates almost no heat and therefore does not have a cooling fan.

This Sony player has a light that indicates that the player is turned on, but it does not display any disk time or chapter information on the unit. This disk information can be displayed on screen by pressing the "DISPLAY" button on the remote while the disk is playing.

UPDATE 12/08/2013 Regarding Netflix Dolby Digital Plus Audio: In order to receive DD+ sound, you must have a DD+ capable receiver AND make the appropriate Netflix settings in "Your Account" Playback settings. I just ran through the Netflix settings and got these results:

Low (0.3 GB per hour)=PCM Stereo.
Medium (0.7 GB per hour)=Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 audio.
High (3 GB per hour)=Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 audio.

5Excellent inexpensive BluRay player
By Bob G
I purchased this at Costco for $69.99 including HDMI cable, without Ethernet cable. Compared to the Samsung BDFM59C which I returned, also to Costco and for which I had paid $129.99, the Sony is a gem. Much easier to use, particularly the search and type function, as well as having a feature the Samsung lacked, that of returning by default to the spot in the DVD last played after turning machine off and on later to resume watching.
Very satisfied with this unit.

5Couldn't be happier
By yolo41
I did quite a bit of looking, reading reviews, etc before purchasing this sony bluray player. Most everything I read was positive and so I took the plunge. I am so very pleased with my decision. First, let me say that the set up could not have been any easier. I hooked up the unit and turned it on and it did the rest, which was wonderful because I can be a little intimidated by this stuff. The first thing I did was go to Netflix because we watch a lot shows here and I read in a couple reviews that there were problems with buffering and lagging. This was last night and I have since watched an entire season of a favorite show of mine and it ran absolutely flawlessly! We also watched a movie today and it also was perfect. For what I was looking for, something to stream netflix, hulu, etc and watch bluray/dvds, I couldn't be happier! It's a a great deal and I highly recommend it.

5My Review - VTech LS6425-3
By Buyer99
At first I was kind of hesitant buying this, but after comparing prices to some other sets, this one just seemed to do the trick....

Loaded with features! Excellent phone system!

Call quality is 4/5. It isn't perfect, but still very good. Of course, the closer to the base, the better the audio will be. Really, no complaints here, as the quality is more than sufficient.

Each phone acts as a walkie-talkie (you can select a specific zone or all zones to initiate radio contact)
Good for if you want to talk to someone in a the living room from bedroom, or if you're out in the backyard cooking.
Just press the little button on the side of the phone, and select a zone, and talk away!

Audible caller ID - hear who's calling you before you pick up the phone...
*Caller ID from your phone service required

Easily store names and numbers of your contacts. Also, easily speak to them.

Each phone displays the number of voicemail messages.
You can listen to your voicemail on ANY phone! It automatically switches to speaker when you do this.
Just press Select 2x and it begins playing the voicemails.
You can also manage the voicemails from any phone.

Each phone as a speaker button, and the phones have a very good volume range, on both the earpiece and speaker.
Also, each phone has a mute button, so you can prevent the other person on the line from hearing you talk.

Multiple ringer options.

Date and Time displayed in each handset. Also battery life indicator.

The voicemail base lights up a red text showing you how many new voicemails.
As I said, each handset also displays this number on the screen.
The base offers easy managing of voicemails.

Super easy to set up. Just plug it in, and you're set. You can also give each phone a name, so you know where they go to.
For instance, Bedroom, Kitchen, Living Room.
This comes in handy when using the walkie talkie feature, so you know which zone you're trying to talk to.

The phones light up neon blue. Very sleek, modern styling.

Conclusion:

For the price, you will be extremely satisfied with this purchase! This is the best home phone system I've ever had, bar none. If you're considering a system, I highly recommend buying this.

3The LS6425 series phones have a lot to offer, but HD Audio is misleading
By Darkev
I use this phone around my home. I love the talking caller id feature. The phones are lightweight and I find the buttons are big and clearly marked. The system uses energy saving technology.

I had a cheap cordless phone that worked, but friends would sometimes complain about the sound quality. I went hunting for a new phone with my number one priority being the sound quality. I chose this phone because of the advertising of HD Audio. What is HD Audio? My take is that VTech is using HD to mean superior sound, because high definition does mean high quality resolution for video and it should mean robust sound for audio if it's going to be used. After using the phone a few times, I find the sound is tinny, and at high volume (levels close to max) it distorts both when using the speakerphone or normal phone. I'm not very impressed with the sound quality on this new model phone by VTech. Even adjusting the sound using the built-in equalizer doesn't help much. Sound to the caller is very good. I called my voicemail system and left a long message to myself using both the speakerphone and the regular non-speakerphone. I played the message back using a corded phone, and the sound quality was fine. It's the speakers inside these phones that appear to be lacking quality, not the mics.

For the price I think it's an ok phone. It's definitely not the best cordless phone out there. If the sound quality was better I'd say it was the best cordless phone system out there.

5Amazing Bang For Your Buck - Sensational Phone System!
By Peter Suslock
As a long time Panasonic fan, I've stuck with their phones for decades.I had tried a Vtech in the past but that was many years ago. I found the phone sub par on virtually every level, returned it within a few days - and went back to a Panasonic.Three years ago, I bought a 6.0 multi handset Panasonic for $179 but after the first year began to experience, static, poor voice quality and problems related to the distance from the main base which included dropped calls.

Batteries were replaced, our lines checked out fine but the problems continued. After reading many positive reviews on this model, I gave it a shot and am sure glad I did. First off, the design of phone is stunning - it's elegant, modern and sleek. Add to that exceptional build quality and equally exceptional performance - and you have a winner.

There's A LOT of bang for your buck here:

* Superb call/voice quality that's crystal clear, all the time - every time.

* Great range. Great quality even a good 3/4 acre from the base.

* Voice announce or silent Caller ID.

* Intercom.

* Fully customizable, sound, volume, outgoing message, Ring tones - and more.

* Silent or custom ring tone transfer of incoming calls to voice mailbox.

* Excellent quality Speaker Phone.

* Thoughtfully designed handsets. Good weight, large back lit keys.

* Large bright LED screen on each handset.

* Built in mini equalizer in each handset.

* Built in phone finder in each handset.

* Superb HD sound quality ( sounds like the other person is right next to you)

* Expandable system for additional handsets should you need them.

The light blue back light, complements the silver and black of the system - for a terrific look that's upscale and very high end.
Set up is a breeze.Included is a quick start guide and users manual. As someone who detests user manuals I have to give kudos to Vtech here as well. The manual is well written and easy to follow. An excellent index will take you right to the issue or function you need to learn about or address.

If there's one con here, it's that the charging bases could be heavier. But this is minor compared to the benefits, bells and whistles you get for your money. Not that long ago a three handset phone with half of these features ran into hundreds of dollars - and some still do. For $59? it's a no brainer. Most anyone is just bound to love this phone system

5Amazing quality with low price tag
By Morgan E. Sheridan
The Roxio Game Capture HD PRO is exactly what I've been looking for in a capture device for a few years now. It is small/compact and has hdmi connections. It is simple to set up and the software is easy, straightforward, and has numerous features. The only downside is that the software takes a little while (depending on your computer) to install and get going. Along those lines, make sure that your computer has the capability to record hd footage. My main computer for game capture is unable to record with optimum settings (it's a little old :/). Once everything is set up, you just click capture and it captures to the specified folder and you click stop capture when you're done and that's it - pretty simple. The price I got it for, due to the special release price, made this a must have for me. The standard price is certainly lower than most HD cap devices, especially with HDMI capability. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this purchase so far. I haven't tried the streaming or direct uploading to youtube but from what I've heard/read those features are effective and convenient.

Pros:
-HDMI!!!
-1080 quality capturing
-software is great
-compact and simple

Cons:
-install time can be long if computer power is poor (mine is) as well as capture quality is dependent on PC

4Works as I expected it to [Updated 2/19/2013]
By Dolph Lundgrennn
Updated: 2/19/2013

Let me say this first, I am a beginner when it comes to capture cards (although I've recorded game play with a camcorder so does that count?). Anyways, the Roxio Game Capture HD PRO works great; no problems recording and no defects. I've yet to try streaming but I will do that in a future update of this review. The software installation is easy and so is the hardware setup; just plug in two HDMI/Component Cables, connect the card to your USB port and you're good to go(assuming you've installed the software already). The software that comes with it (Roxio VideoWave) is incredibly easy to use although I couldn't customize the render settings, only choose different presets but that's probably because I haven't fiddled around enough with the software. The device itself is incredibly light and compact so I wouldn't leave it someplace where it could get crushed by your foot or something else. If you're having any problems using this then you must have done something wrong(e.g. loose cables, wrong settings, etc.) so make sure if you have any problems that you DOUBLE CHECK everything. If you've done that and are absolutely sure that it isn't you, then you probably have a defective product. I really dislike the way people bash products due to their own human errors. This does NOT INCLUDE HDMI/COMPONENT CABLES so make sure you have the required cables.

Pros:
- Lightweight & compact(Is this a good thing?)
- Incredibly easy setup(Even a caveman could do it)
- Up to 1080p capturing

Cons:
- After several months of editing, VideoWave has become such a hassle to use(it will get better I hope)
- Sometimes the device won't record even though it's capturing

Final Thoughts:
If you're recording in full quality, it takes about 2 megabytes a second so make sure you have a lot of hard drive space. A 1:23 minute clip took up 158mb of space. Please make sure that your computer meets the recommended system requirements otherwise you'll be an unhappy customer and bash this product because you didn't read. If you want to use your headset and record via HDMI, you will need an audio adapter("RCA / Toslink Audio Adapter for Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Slim" from MonoPrice). I've uploaded a couple raw MW3 clips to YouTube(DolphLundgrennn)so check them out if you'd like. They don't look as nice as the original files but it's still great. I'll capture some more game play to get the quality even better once I've learned the program.

STREAMING:
I forgot to add this into my review but streaming with VideoWave works well but you need some really fast internet. I have 30 down and 5 up and I can only stream at around 800kbps before it starts to lag.

Updates: 11/1/12
- As others have mentioned, Sony Vegas cannot read the audio codec for the recorded files so you'll have to convert the file or stick with VideoWave. It's not a bad program, it's just not as fluid as Vegas.
- If you're having screen resolution problems, you need to disable "Auto Custom Scaling" or adjust those settings. Mines was on auto and it was messing up my resolution.
- Sometimes you need to switch back to the HDMI input if you're receiving no signal(Using my Audio adapter caused the input to be on "component" instead of "HDMI").

Updates: 11/9/12
- If you have a monitor that has a 1650x1050 resolution and you're using this capture card, it may be a bit blurry but not to the point where you cannot see anything. Everything is still HD and very playable, but it may turn some off.
- Cannot stream at 1300 kbps with a 3mbps upload so I use around 800kbps in 480p.
- A friend recommends using FFSplit(assuming you can install it) and just screen cap the gameplay in the roxio software. He's gotten some really great looking streams.

Updates: 11/18/12
- Sometimes the program will freeze and stop working when I stop streaming and try to record. I cannot end the process(via task manager) which forces me to shut down my 360 and restart my PC. It hasn't happened often but it is annoying.
- VideoWave doesn't allow you to add more than 2 audio tracks so make sure you save your project before trying so. Adding an audio track(such as sound effects) into the same track works however.
- VideoWave is fairly slow and may be annoying to work with for people who are used to Sony Vegas.

Updates: 11/20/12
- If you're having the "No Signal" issue and your TV is 1080p, switch that to 720p. Took me a while to figure it out.

Updates: 12/04/12
- You can have different outputs meaning if you are capturing via Component, you can output via HDMI too and vice versa.
- Sometimes when capturing, it will not actually record so you need to pay attention to the bottom left to see if it's recording(duration, file size created, etc.)

Updates: 2/19/13
- Updated the review with "Streaming" info under "Final Thoughts"
- VideoWave is becoming incredibly annoying to use to do some basic edits and I think I'm starting to hate it. Doing commentaries or just rendering is fine.
- Still works great after about 4 months
- Sometimes will record 60fps. Maybe it's my PC but sometimes it would record my CoD videos with 60fps but mostly 30fps now.

5Great Product, Horrible Software.
By HDProdigy
Just got this device yesterday and I can say that this device is AMAZING, especially with the price tag. The reason why I'm giving this 5 stars even though I said the software is horrible(which it is), is that it's a fairly new device, and I want to give them some time to fix all of the bugs within the software. The device itself is great, and the quality you get is comparable/better than the HD PVR, Elgato etc. A lot of people say a downside to recording with this device, is that you can't import the clips into other NLEs(Sony Vegas) because the audio doesn't import with it. There is a quick fix on the Roxio forums for that, or you can download "Any Video Recorder" and convert the audio only, which takes about a few seconds. I haven't tried livestreaming yet, as I don't do live streams but I will probably test it out. Instead of pros and cons, I will write what's good about the device, and what's bad about the software as of now.

"What's Good About the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro"

- H264 encoder within the device, does all the CPU processing for you.

- Component and Hdmi passthrough. If you play in component and have the device hooked up to your PC, you can play with HDMI and record via component(great if you have a second monitor that takes HDMI!).

- Great sound card, amazing sound quality.

- Doesn't need a power source, just hook up via USB and that's all you need.

- Great design, lightweight and sturdy(opinion).

- Max bitrate is 15mbps, great for people who do multiple renders like myself.

- 720p 60fps, 1080p 30fps recordings.

"The Horrible Software" - Note that this is MY experience, not yours. You may not have the same problems.

- Slow loading times.

- If you had problems during the installation, you'll have freezing problems with the software although I fixed it by re-installing.

- If you set the bitrate to max(or over the middle of the slider bar), or if you're doing anything else, the screen starts glitching out and so does the recording. If you're having this problem, the only way to fix this as of now is to move the slider to the middle of the quality slider bar and close every program(don't know why) which lets you record at 8-10mbps.

- If you mute the audio in the preview window, it doesn't save when you exit.

All in all, the device is outstanding, but the software definitely needs some work, but I will hold on to this device until future software updates as it has A LOT of potential.

5Buy two and watch them outperform a GTX Titan
By Jason Evangelho
I'm evaluating two of these for Forbes Tech, and running them in SLI yielded better FPS results than the $1000 NVIDIA GTX Titan. This wasn't just at 1080p either. I used both synthetic benchmarks and real-world game tests at 1440p as well, and these dual MSIs continuously impressed, and at half the price of the Titan and roughly $150 less than the GTX 780.

5Great GPU
By MrPie
This is definitely the fastest GPU I've owned (granted my last one was the HD4350), but nonetheless a great card. I've been throwing some benchmarks at it and it definitely holds up (furmark, boinc, blender, etc.) The good thing about this card too is that it runs well in SLI, so that could be a future upgrade path. This is a great card and should run any modern game decently at a relatively high resolution.

5great mid-range card
By James W
This card rocks. Plays everything I've thrown at it on ultra. Can't wait to get another and run them in SLI. To these others giving low ratings, think about what you're doing before you give a great product a crappy rating. Just because you didn't take the time to measure your PC before you purchased this is not a good reason to give it 3 stars. NOR is it ever right to give a product a bad rating because ANOTHER product performs slightly better for $80 more. Stupidity. 33 other people agree. If you were looking for a fairly priced mid-range video card, stop here. This is faster than the 660ti for $50 less.

5Good Range, Good Sensitivity, Right Price, Bright LED.
By Yoda 7th
I've a soft spot for lights... torchlights, motion lights, spotlights, nightlights, etc. I've at least 2 dozen night lights; motion-activated, darkness-activated, battery-operated and electric. So my review is with reference to my collection and usage experience.

Good - This Mr Beams MB 723 is by far the best for lighting up pathways. Design is simple and robust, easily removed for portability, no reflective cover, no direct eye-contact with LED, wide-angle detection range(about 160 degrees), and has an active sensor (meaning it won't leave you in darkness until you're out of range and will only shut off 30 seconds thereafter). Although rated for 1.5V, Eneloop rechargeable batteries (1.2V) works just fine.

Caution - other reviewers had bad experience with the included double-sided adhesive; it is definitely of cheap quality and will almost certainly damage your wall when removed. This nightlight requiring 4xAA batteries needs stronger adhesive. I guessed that is why mounting screws are included. If you hate making holes in wall like myself, strongly suggest using 3M damage-free adhesive which I've been happily using and removing without pain.

Note: This is not meant for above eye-level placement because its LED will blind you!

Conclusion - For its purpose, this nightlight is a great design. Not meant to compare with overhead or directional models. Hence, I've rated this 5 stars. I'm usually skeptical about purchasing lights online especially when lumens ratings are not given. I took the risk even though some reviewers complained about it being not bright enough. Comparing this with my dozens of nightlight, it is brighter than all of them (both battery and electrical operated). All 3 works out-of-the-box as advertised and having read pro-active comments from the manufacturer for those 1-star reviews, I was not worried about DOA anyway. Glad I bought this and hope this review helps!

5Reliable & functional!
By G. Wells
Received these in less than a week from Smarthome.

Each light takes 4 AA batteries, so buy a 12-pack too! The booklet recommends alkaline or lithium AA-cells with 1.5v rating -- your usual energizer/duracell AA battery, in other words. I had hoped to try the new Eneloop -long-lasting-charge rechargeables (i still might), but we'll see how long it takes for these batteries to die first.

these come with a mounting bracket and double-sided sticky patches; the sticky patches will be fine since these items only weigh 1% more than 4 AA batteries. :)

My hallway is dark at night, and i have these space every 5 feet along the floor. The light is somewhat directional, and i have 'em aimed down (as in the picture) so they illuminate mainly the floor (so you won't be blinded when stumbling to the loo in the middle of the night).

The motion sensor has a wide angle, and as i walk down my hall, the lights light up when i get within four feet (like an 80-degree angle) away, which is great. They light up at night, at dusk, at dawn, and when it's grey & cloudy like today. Yesterday was sunny, even (sort of) in my hallway, and they detected that and didn't light up.

So for about $50 (forty for the lights, ten for the batteries) i now have illumination in my hallway, my kids aren't scared of walking down it, my parents & in-laws need not worry about tripping... the only question is HOW LONG WILL THE AA'S LAST? I'll try to check in at 6 month intervals (comment to this and i'll receive an email alert if i need reminding.) ;^_^

4Perfect for students and business people
By Travis J. Hill
I have used these legal pads for taking notes in class for two years now. They are nice, because you don't have to deal with any of the annoyances that come with typical notepad paper, e.g., holes in the sheet, rough or uneven edges. However, this is a bad thing for those that like to put their notes into a three-ring binder.

The downside is, unless you are ok with having fold creases on your pages (folding it back over the pad), you will need to remove each sheet before moving on to the next one. It takes some practice to rip exactly on the perforation for a clean break, but once you get the feel for it, you'll get it 100%.

Sometimes professors require homework/formula sheets to be exactly 8 1/2" x 11". That's ok for these legal pads, because although it's listed as 8 1/2" x 11 1/2", once you remove the sheet at the perforation line, you will lose that extra 1/2 inch.

A major plus for these legal pads are the cardboard backings, because they can work as standalone tables on your lap. This is contrary to most notepads, which are flimsy and require a hard surface--especially when the paper is running low.

As for price, it's competitive with the market. Buy the 12-pack for extra value.

I recommend these pads for students or business people. Writers and artists may like to look elsewhere, because of the fold creases mentioned above and the difficulty in keeping your work private (no cover).

2The paper is fine; the backing is flimsy
By Matthew Frost
There is nothing wrong with the paper in these pads, that I've seen -- I tend to use legal pads by flipping back the pages, not tearing them out -- but the problem lies in the lack of any stiffness to the backing cardboard. It is thin and very flexible. If you're writing on a desk, fine. But if you're writing on your knee, or freestanding, you're going to have problems.

2beware the crumples!
By Cathryn Tallman-Evans
There are crumpled papers within each pad. This means you never have a flat, smooth, even surface. There are just enough problem pages in each pad to make problems for the whole pad, but not enough that you will give up and just toss the whole pad and order something else. I won't order this item again.
