5Read this before you believe bad reviews!!!
By Daniel C. Cronk
My girlfriend got me this mic for my birthday as I like to write music in my free time. This mic works beautifully for the price and anyone who says otherwise probably didn't read the instructions that came with the mic. There is actually a setting on your computer (for PCs) called either "AGC" or "Mic Boost" if this is enabled on your mic it will be very sensitive. I too was experiencing buzzing when I first plugged in my mic but after READING THE INSTRUCTIONS I found that if you turn off this setting on the mic it will eliminate all those extra noises you don't want to record. So I went into my mics settings in the control panel and turned of the "AGC" option and now the mic records beautifully and I have no extra noises in my recordings.

5Great mic, people on here are WRITING bad reviews becuase they don't know how to use it!!!
By Mattinthebox
Okay you guys, i read many of these reviews before getting this product, and they said it picks up all these radio signal sounds and such but there is any easy solution to completely getting rid of that horid buz sound. I bought this thinking what the heck its $30, cheapest usb mic on the market. At first when recording i heard very annoying sounds, so I began to do some research online about what causes this sound. See most laptops and some desktops, actually most desktops now days have two pronged electricity power cords; it's missing the third one. The third one makes the device(computer) grounded meaning electricity can't pass through all the computer's ports and such. This electric current goes through the usb port of the mic thus causing the buz sound. Simply if you have a laptop unplug the computer and the mic will work amazingly!!! On desktop computers, if you don't have a back up battery then simply buy a three prong adapter from radioshack and add it on to the end of the desktop's power cord. This will also get rid of this buzzing sound that people are leaving horrible reviews about. The mic itself is amazing for the price it could be easily be compared equal to some hundred dollar mics!!! The plastic stand that it has works very well. Also, the usb plug is gold plated which allows more data to pass to the computer allowing better quality in recordings. Not only this, the mics cord is actual at least a meter and a half long which is absolutely awesome. Like most professional mics, a windscreen and a pop filter are very important to bring the best quality of this item. I use this for vocals and rapping and it works very well. I actually became disappointed with all the bad reviews thinking that their mic is broken or is a cheap piece of trash, so please support this review so people see it at the top, so they know how to use a usb mic!!!
thanks for reading, Mattinthebox

4Works for me
By S. Fontenot
I bought this mic to record voices for some amature video games my friends and I make (and secretly for beatboxing late at night). To this end it worked well, so I got a few friends together one day and we decided to try singing into it. Again, it worked above expectations. So I decided to put it to a real test: I recorded myself playing solo bassoon at various distances, and I was surprised at how it could pick up everything from tongue and pitch alterations to the clicking of my keys in a quiet room (with the boost on).

However, the puff reduction (thing that keeps the "p" sound from squealing) doesn't work nearly as well as I had hoped, but this is remedied by keeping a fair distance away when talking. Doing so subjects the recording to room noise and echo, but it's a fair price to pay for a $40 mic. Thumbs up.

4Pricey, but impressive bluetooth speaker
By Steeler Nation
I decided to try out this highly rated bluetooth speaker for my iPad and iPhone and was shocked at its ease of use, sound quality, small footprint, portability and long battery life. I liked the choice of colors which makes these small speakers standout and easy to spot. When I first opened the package, I was pleased that the company included several high quality cords including both short and long micro USB cords for recharging and computer synching, charge adapter, and a tangle-free audio cord for non-bluetooth sources. You can create an account on the Jawbone MyTALK site to download voice profiles and apps. In pairing mode, it easily connected with all of our iPads and iPhones. I tested the iPad first with Netflix, Pandora, Hulu+, Air Video Server, and iTunes. Considering that the speaker is only the size of 2 stacked Wii controllers, the sound was surprisingly strong, clear, full-bodied, and free of hisses or pops that I have experienced with other bluetooth speakers and maintained the bluetooth connection without a single drop. Next, I paired both an iPhone 4 and 3Gs and both easily paired with the speaker. I ran Pandora and tested the speakerphone function which worked nicely. You can program a quickdial number that can be immediately dialed by pushing the round botton on the top when paired with a phone. You can download apps for voice commands which I didn't try since I rarely ever use, but the transmission and receiving sound quality is quite good. The next day, I went to work in the operating room and everyone was curious when I pulled out the small speaker and placed my iPhone by its side. There's no need to bring any cords which is the real advantage of using this speaker for true convenient portability. When I started playing my Pandora selections from the iPhone, no one in the O.R. could believe it was coming out of this small speaker. It obviously isn't going to challenge a Bose SoundDock or Dr. Dre Beatbox, but we all had a pleasant day in the operating room doing a full day of cases with great tunes and the speaker lasted the entire day using only 50% of the battery life. At home, I was surprised when my son was playing games on the iPad downstairs and the sound was coming through the Jambox speakers located upstairs with perfect clarity. I researched all of the bluetooth speakers currently available, and this stands out by far. Personally, I prefer using this small speaker which I can pull out of my labcoat, rather than carrying around a large heavy sounddock with cords shoved in a bag. I now leave the sounddock in my office. The only reason I didn't rate this 5-stars is due to the sticker-shocker price which I personally feel is a bit excessive and would be more competitive in the $150 - $170 range. At the $200 pricepoint, most people are audiophiles and will likely make the unfair comparison to larger sounddocks. On the other hand, this is perfect for people like myself willing to sacrifice a bit of room-filling base-rumbling sound for a truly portable wireless speaker with accurate sound reproduction. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and will buy another when and if the price drops.

*****update 9/18/2011******
True to my word, when this went on a Gold box deal for $149, I purchased a second speaker for the kids who used them on camping trips to watch movies on their iPads with their friends. I've been using this daily over the past year with only a few minor issues. I am not a big fan of the latest downloaded software update to add "Live Audio" sound processing which really dampens the sound volume too much to be effective and have only noticed a subtle difference for certain music files. I suspect there will be more reviewers who will knock this device due to dissatisifaction with the Live Audio update, but don't realize that this can be simply toggled on/off by depressing and holding the minus and plus buttons together a few seconds. After purchasing a second one for the kids to use with their iPads, I had to change the bluetooth device names to distinguish multiple speakers since it is default set as "JAMBOX by Jawbone." If you have already synced your i"Device" you will notice that it will keep the old name. Simply go to Settings/General/Bluetooth and select the Not Connected icon and select "Forget this device." This will reset the name for the device and you can simply rescan and resync with the speaker to update the name in your bluetooth device list. I don't understand why there are so many poor reviews for syncing problems which I have never experienced using iOS devices. Other reviewers have also recommended the Soundfreaq SFQ-1 which has equal (to my ears, slightly superior to others) bluetooth sound quality and comparable pricing. I like the SoundFreaq, but I still prefer the JAMBOX due to its smaller size and simple rectangular shape which easily fits in my coat pocket for portability. The sound quality coupled with design factor make this a much more flexible purchase. Ignore reviews that make unfair comparisons to larger expensive office/room audiophile speakers which serve different purposes. I use both the Bose SoundDock and Dr. Dre Beatbox and also really enjoyed the inexpensive, but discontinued Griffin Amplfi speaker which all give a wider and fuller sound experience but are all impractical to drag around with you.

*** update 10/10/2011 ***
The new Jambox 2.1 software upgrade has fixed all the problems with the previous LiveAudio upgrade. The new SoundClarity algorithm is really nice and preserves the higher volume levels. I turn the LiveAudio off when we're in the operating room and it gives nice spatial sound and turn it back on when I'm alone in the office for a softer, but improved sound. I've noticed continued bad ratings complaining of frequent bluetooth connection drops. I have 2 Jambox speakers (blue and black) and have used them daily for 10 months with our iPhones, iPads, and recently an Asus Transformer android tablet and honestly have never had a single connection drop. I use the devices to listen to music in the operating room for 8-10 straight hours and we have have never had a dropped connection. I wonder if folks were unlucky to get a bad speaker or perhaps their problems are actually with their media devices that have outdated bluetooth protocols (i.e. non iOS devices).

1Battery failed in less than 60 days and manufacturer refuses to honor warranty
By JC Chupack
On 8 Oct 2011, I received a Jawbone Jambox Bluetooth speaker as a gift, which my husband purchased for me on 6 Oct 2011 from Amazon. It was a great product, with good sound clarity. I was very impressed with the speaker's range and capabilities, although I did feel the usability left a few things to be desired. However, I had a problem in that it didn't seem to hold a charge. I contacted Jawbone's support via e-mail (form on their website) on 29 Nov 2011 for assistance. Unlike many other support services, their agent seemed to be truly reading my e-mails and not just scanning for keywords and sending form responses. However, once we got to the point that we determined an RMA was in order, support informed me that they were "out of stock" and couldn't promise when they'd have a replacement unit in stock. They said I could send my unit in but they couldn't tell me when I'd get a replacement. They could not even give me a range, e.g., 4-6 weeks, 2-3 months.

However, at the same time as they were telling me they were out of stock and could make no promises, they were selling my exact model on their website with indication that they are "in stock", so the claims of being out of stock ring false. When I pointed this out to the support representative, he provided no explanation for the discrepancy but instead continued to say they were out of stock. He recommended I continue to "check in with them" periodically to see if a replacement was available. I asked if, per their stated Warranty, if they could offer a refund since a replacement or repair seemed to be unavailable. Unsurprisingly, they declined that option.

This feels to me very much like an attempt to get out of honoring the warranty by putting the consumer off and/or making it so unappealing as to discourage pursuit of the warranty. At best, I suspect that they're simply "out of stock" of replacement units, i.e., re-furbished units, even though the warranty says replacement will be either new or re-furb and not limited to re-furbished units. I don't think that it's honoring the spirit of the warranty to delay replacement on that basis. I further think it's against the spirit if not the actual wording of the warranty to refuse to replace a faulty unit in any way when the unit failed in less than 60 days from the point of purchase. Finally, I think it's beyond the sense of reason to tell a customer with a ~$200 product that is now a paperweight that it's up to them to keep contacting you periodically to find out when the warranty will be honored. Admittedly, I've been lucky enough to not have very many issues requiring warranty service with my other electronics, but when I have, I have never run into this sort of shenanigan.

After this, there is no way I will spend money with them again, and I advise others to do the same. It may be within Jawbone's legal right to handle warranty requests in this way, but I think it shows an unwillingness to stand behind the quality of the product as well as a lack of caring about their customers once the sale is complete. As for my specific situation, I'm basically out of luck. I'm past the return window (30 days) to return it to Amazon. I'm not the only person who has run into this battery issue, and I wouldn't be surprised if that was part of the cause of their "out of stock" issue on replacement units. Buy at your own risk, because you may or may not ever be able to get Jawbone to actually honor their warranty.

Edited 12/3/2012: Jawbone sent a replacement (which seems to be a new unit) on 11/20/2012 (more than a year after this review), which I received on 11/23/2012. So far, it is working fine, and I will update again after a few more weeks with status as to whether it outlasts the previous unit. I posted more details about my email exchange with Jawbone in the comments on this review, but the most notable aspect is that Jawbone claims to have improved their warranty handling but did not make any specific commitments to a) honor warranty requests or b) ensure in-stock units in reasonable timeframes in the future. While my specific issue has been resolved by this replacement, I don't know that I feel right saying that others should feel fine ordering this product given how long it took to get a response and that the response (both below and in the exchanges in the comment thread on this post) was non-committal as far as how other people's issues might be handled.

1WARNING
By Corey Greenberg
(Update 6/7/12: If you want to cut to the chase, I found a much better alternative to the Jawbone. Logitech's Mini Boombox http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005PUZOYM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER. It's a lot better and a lot cheaper than the Jawbone, and several months in it's still working flawlessly. Highly recommended.)

This company should be ashamed of this buggy, defective product and the absolutely useless "customer service" it has in place (and trust me, you WILL be calling customer service if you buy a JAMBOX.)

I purchased a new JAMBOX from Amazon on Tuesday, Feb 7th and received it the next day. As it was supposed to be a Valentine's Day gift for my wife, I unboxed the JAMBOX to set it up for her so she could start using it right away.

Right out of the box, the JAMBOX worked fine. It wasn't as loud as the reviews had led me to expect it to be, but it had good sound quality and was decently loud for such a small powered speaker.

The problems began when I did as the manual recommended and configured the JAMBOX via USB by installing the Jawbone Updater app. This "app" simply launches your web browser and has you set up an account at [...]. at which point your JAMBOX is recognized and updated to the latest firmware. You can also choose a different voice for the device, so it talks back to you in a male or female accent in several different flavors.

The software update went fine, the app told me my unit was fully ups to date and ready to go, and that's when my JAMBOX stopped working entirely and never worked right again.

The JAMBOX wouldn't pair over Bluetooth anymore with a Mac, a Windows 7 laptop, or an iPad. When it did pair, nothing came out of the speaker but loud static. Even when the JAMBOX wasn't paired with anything, it still had a loud static noise.

I Googled the issue and found a ton of people having the same problem, and nobody had found a solution even when dealing with customer service. still, I called customer service anyway to see for myself if these were isolated incidents or not.

The first customer service rep I spoke with was a very young woman with zero knowledge of the JAMBOX and no technical understanding at all. It was very obvious she was reading from a telemarketing response tree screen, and she mispronounced L.E.D. "led" as in "Led Zeppelin". She also gave me bogus info about doing a hard reset, which was refuted by...

The SECOND customer service rep I spoke with. He told me the 1st rep's advice to press the call button six time quickly and then hold on the 7th time was wrong - instead I should turn the device off, then as soon as I turned it on again, quickly press the call button 6 times to do the hard reset.

He actually said, "Yeah, it's really tricky, sometimes it takes 10 tries before the reset works."

TEN TRIES?! What kind of nonsense is this? What company puts a product on the market like this without a simple and solid reset option? $25 WiFi routers have a reset button. But a $200 JAMBOX doesn't? Shameful.

This being the 21st Century, I'm well accustomed to gadgets shipping with little to no quality control or beta testing, and it's understood that I'll have to Google around a bit to find out what how the hive mind has solved whatever lingering issues any new device has. This is the first time I've ever spent an hour Googling a product problem and finding NOT ONE SINGLE SOLUTION AND/OR SATISFIED CUSTOMER. Don't believe me? Check out JAMBOX's own official forum right here: http://forums.jawbone.com/t5/Jawbone-Speakers/ct-p/speakers.

This company spent a ton of money on slick Web videos and buying up all the right gadget reviewers so the JAMBOX would get great buzz. Unfortunately, the JAMBOX itself is a piece of crap. The tech support is non-existent, and even the company's own user forums, where by all rights there should be company representatives answering questions and pointing users toward the right solutions, are only populated by angry buyers like me who feel like suckers for believing the hype about this magical tiny Bluetooth speaker that filled a room with loud, full stereo sound and fit in the palm of your hand.

Maybe you'll read this and write me off, thinking "heh, every gadget has a few angry nuts who just like to complain because they're miserable to begin with", etc. But let me tell you something: I have NEVER written an Amazon negative review before, and I've bought thousands of items here. All kinds of tech products. Never have I felt as wholly scammed by a product and a company as I have with this JAMBOX.

You've been warned. If I can save one person from the crappy afternoon of fruitless troubleshooting I had today, it was worth the time it took to write this.

5Fine quality and durable too.
By projectmgr
This is my first Pelican case and will not be my last I am sure.

What I like about this case is the quality of fit and finish, size, pricepoint and mobility. It also fits the carry-on requirement for commercial airlines perfectly.

Nice and tight fit is complimented by rugged materials that handle the couple of mishaps I have had so far very well.

I actually paid about 20% more than the price I see listed here and felt like I had received adequate value and still do.

Listen if I had to give those considering whether to purchase this case one good tip it would be this. Buy this case but with the sectioned liner instead of the foam. I know the foam sounds great but in retrospect I wish I had bought this with liner instead.

Would you believe when that has come up in conversation with other photographers the ones I talk to say the same thing?

Yes the few I have talked with agreed!

See you think you want a clean, tight, perfectly aligned situation inside but the reality is that you quickly

add more accessories like cleaning stuff and manuals that are also integral to your equipment.

Taking that into consideration makes the likelihood of using this case for more than periodic air travel more likely when able to fit your principal and ancillary outfit together and access it quickly when necessary.

Since being prepared means having the ability to clean lenses and sensors and reference manuals and carry business cards the liner appears more practical in retrospect than the foam.

I am about to order the liner as an accessory adding significantly to the cost. Had I known then what I know now, I could have saved sixty or so bucks.

Anyways, overall fine product from a contemporary manufacturer!

Good luck!

5Great solid case
By Pugshot
I just got back from a trip to Yellowstone Nat'l Park; Big Sky, Montana; and the Grand Tetons. In preparation for this trip I bought the Pelican 1510 case and added the lid organizer. All-in-all it was a great purchase. The case easily fit in the overhead bins on both the larger (Airbus) plane and the smaller, regional plane. The handle and wheels worked well and made it easy to pull through the airports. It held a lot of gear - two DSLR bodies, 70-300 zoom, 17-55 zoom, 10-22 zoom, 100 f/2.8 prime, 300 f/4 prime, 1.4 teleconverter, flash, filters, memory cards, extra batteries, and lots of other assorted photo goodies (of course, photographers would always like to be able to carry more, but then you'd have a case that was too big to be stowed in the overhead). The velcro partitions are easy to re-arrange to customize the inside space. The lid organizer gives additional storage for small items (be careful when installing it to make sure the holes in the organizer line up with the attachment points in the case lid - and pre-drill screw holes to make the screws easier to insert). One of the reasons I opted for this case was the chance that I'd be forced to check it at the gate; if that had happened, I knew the strength of the case would protect the equipment when it was tossed around by the baggage handlers. Fortunately, I didn't have that problem because, as I said, it fit in the overhead with room to spare. One downside was lack of space to have the battery grips installed on the DSLRs - but with a little more time and creativity (or less gear), I probably could have worked that out also. While no one case ever seems to be perfect (and therefore photographers usually buy several to satisfy different requirements), this was pretty close.

5Pelican Case 1510
By NIZTEC
This is by far the best case that I have bought so far. I recently picked up more lighting equipment along with more transmitter and my Tamrac bag was just getting way to small for everything. This case holds everything plus more. Its waterproof to like 30ft. I think. Its dust resistant as well. Its great for a carry on luggage if you like to travel. Best thing of all, it has wheels just in case you get tired lugging everything. I
bought the case with the padded divders, but I wanted more space so I also ordered the lid organizer as I wanted more stuff to hold. Once you get this, you will not be going back to the regular backpack.

4Great Bargain Laptop!
By R. Newton
Bought one at a local Wal-Mart for $298. Comes with 500GB hard drive, 6GB RAM, optical drive, Windows 8, 15.6 inch screen. It even has a built-in web camera. No bloatware installed. It's hard to find a name-brand computer at this price with an optical drive. The extra 2GB ram compared to most models at this price-pint is a bonus. The case feels a little cheap, but for the price I can get over it. It's probably not a great gaming computer but for typical use it's great. Considering it has the optical drive and a full-size screen, it is fairly thin and light. A real bargain in my book. I hope it holds up for a while!

5Combo pack that makes sense - a good value for OEM ink
By JB
I've taken issue with Canon ink cartridges for the fact that over time the capacities have shrunk dramatically. For example, older tanks like the Canon CLI-8 were 13ml capacity, the later gen Canon CLI-221 shrunk to 9ml, and the most recent Canon CLI-251 shrunk even further to 7ml. Note that this isn't just a Canon issue; the incredible shrinking ink cartridge has affected HP and Epson as well, perhaps even more so than Canon.

So I appreciate the fact that Canon kept the capacity of these new CLI-42 tanks at 13ml. This makes them a reasonable value - even if these cartridges cost somewhat more than the newer tanks mentioned above, the cost per ml is much less. And by using OEM ink, you'll get the best results and least headaches printing on Canon printers like the Canon PIXMA Pro-100 Color Professional Inkjet Photo Printer.

Another plus for the CLI-42 is that these tank are clear, allowing you to eyeball the remaining ink levels. Most other current Canon ink tanks are opaque; with these you must rely on the printer to tell you when to replace the ink, and occasionally printers get it wrong and tell you a tank is empty when it isn't.

As for the combo sold here, it contains all of the inks required to use the Pro-100, without missing ink tanks or unneeded throw-ins like a few sheets of 4x6 paper. And it saves you about $10 over the cost of buying the tanks individually.

5OC certainly not required
By Mathew Kestner
Used in an ITX build for my previous concrete contractor boss who enjoys video games. He wanted to play World of Tanks and his current Dell laptop with a first generation i3 couldn't get it beyond 20fps on minimum. Now he is seeing steady 30fps and more at low mixed with some medium settings, using the iGPU. He is quite pleased.

Stock fan and inside a Cooler Master Elite 120, this runs average of 40-45C, idle being higher 30's. A stock fan isn't to be expected as a workhorse anyway. Though at these figures, that isn't even close to getting hot. During World of Tanks play it doesn't speed the CPU fan at all, but I hadn't any method of testing the temp during game play, but certainly not a drop of lag on the appropriate settings.

Most often those looking for self builds are convinced of a CPU that can be overclocked. Don't fall victim for this whatsoever. Keep in mind the 60fps v-sync standard that most play by, as that is to match the 60hz produced by your television. Currently these CPU's can handle a large binary workload in gaming sessions, without much sweat.

To give proof OCing is needless, let me share some game benchmarks that I have taken the time to research.

Under Windows 8(which shows nearly identical performance of Windows 7):
*Please keep in mind the i7 has hyperthreading which is also needless in games*
*The machines are identical but the CPU was the only difference -- also using discrete graphics, not iGPU for these benchmarks*

Skyrim using an i3-3220 received 185FPS
Skyrim using an i7-3770k received 234FPS

Diablo 3 with i3-3220 @ 193.5FPS
Diablo 3 with i7-3770k @ 226FPS

Dirt 3 with i3-3220 @ 102
Dirt 3 with i7-3770k @ 109

Of course you could find charts and graphs showing in other games there is a larger difference between the two, but do not forget for one second the i3-3220 is a dual core and the i7-3770k is a quad core with hyper-threading.

Why do I use the i3 in this i5 review? To prove that the perceived gap existing between i5 and an i7 is almost non-existent in the gaming world.

The added benefit of the i5 over an i3 is the additional two cores. That is the major point of moving to an i5 from an i3. If you are always going to limit yourself to nothing more than casual gaming, web browsing, photo editing, and watching netflix than an i3 would by far be more than enough for you, but if you intend to continue gaming with newer titles and also want to encode/edit video, the i5 is easily the better choice. For an i7 to be fully utilized is hard to do, considering the lack of hyper-threading programs and most people who can use an i7 are most likely having it encode/decode video and editing seriously large files in Photoshop. Now add onto all of that, the i7 can already do extremely heavy lifting, where is the point of overclocking it? So in turn, where is the point of overclocking a k version i5?

If you are into video editing, then you are probably jumping into the i7 anyway. If you are casually into gaming and typical computer use, the i3 fits well. If you want a very flexible purchase that lasts longer than an i3 and can game as well as an i7, then grab this i5.

I speak vaguely of i3, i5, and i7, as each generation has been fairly similar(not identical) in terms of performance for the XXXX series.

The major changes from gen2, gen3, and now gen4 are focused a lot upon the integrated graphics, but also the change in how the transistors are produced on the chips, which leads to the shrunken die size.

Overall, if I drug out something otherwise simple, I apologize, but I do feel that other consumers without the time to enhance their knowledge of upgrades, generation gaps, and performance differences of what they are buying. I have no credentials aside from my self employment building computers and studying computer science major and physics minor, but when it comes to real word performance compared to singular CPU benchmarks no amount of certification nor "expertise" can deny that the i5 is easily the best all around choice for each generation of iSeries.

Go with overclocking if you want to wag around your e-peen or if you have an actual need for it. But if you do some research, you can easily find that the i5-2400(2nd gen, non-oc, socket LGA 1155) gives only a few less FPS than an i7-3930K(3rd gen, OC, no iGPU, socket LGA 2011)... though on paper these two processors are far apart. So again, real world even an i5 from two years ago can match a 6 core hyper-threaded overpriced i7 from last year, which means this currently reviewed i5 would by and far be the best bang for your buck.

Save a few bucks, save the trouble of learning OCing, and get a very solid series of CPU compared to anything AMD offers.

The bottleneck that is felt within computing currently is that the data storage level. An i3 first generation would boot to windows using an SSD in easily a fraction of the time it would take an xeon, i7, i5 or combination to be thought of if these were using a typical hard drive. So if you are considering upgrading your CPU because your self thought is the sluggishness of the computer, then perhaps consider if you have an SSD using AHCI as the controller interface. If you have an SSD but you don't know your computer is set to IDE, then the SSD will perform like mud. Having an SSD doesn't make your computer awesome... having an SSD installed properly will make it awesome.

I hope this helped.

5Why This CPU
By Uncle Bob
At the moment this is the lowest cost Haswell CPU. That might change later this year / month / week / hour. Since it's cheap, what's missing compared to the other Haswell chips?

1) It's slower than the rest by a bit. You might take a 20% speed hit, possibly more if you over clock
2) It's a I-5 and not an I-7. This time around the I-7's are hyper thread and the I-5's are (mostly) not.
3) It's missing a few instructions related to virtualization.
4) It's not as low power as some

What's in there compared to the other Haswell's you can easily buy?

1) Same graphics engine, similar speed as the rest
2) Same 4 cores as the I-5's and I-7's (there is one I-5 with 2 cores, but it's not easy to find)
3) Same 1150 series motherboard compatibility

Great little part for the money. If a frame rate of 71 vs 60 ( or 24 vs 20) is life or death to you - spend more money on another CPU.

The built in video is fine for normal use, it's not going to give you uber frame rates on that brand new game that just came out. Plan on buying a couple of GTX-7xx's to really get those high frame rates. Those video cards each will cost you more than this CPU (maybe a *lot* more).

5Best bang for your buck
By Matt Norton
I bought this processor to build a computer for a friend and I gotta say, I am regretting spending so much on my i7. Both of us are gamers and there's really no difference in the performance between this and my processor that cost about $100 more. Maybe in the next year some newer games will make some heavier use of the CPU and mine will start outshining his but so far I haven't seen that.

3Old Batteries
By Saint of Sin
The batteries seem to work well enough but the "use until date" was one month before I even recieved them. That means these batteries are over 7 years old!!!

5Great Batteries, Fresh w/ Recent Production Date But BUY FROM AMAZON - Reasons Below
By Hyoun Kim
Amazon.com is the #1 retailer in the world for a reason... Awesome customer satisfaction, excellent business plan, great products, amazing prices, etc... As we all know, Amazon has expanded their business to allow 3rd parties to sell their products on Amazon's website for some time now. With this expansion, they allow 3rd party businesses to either 1) use Amazon as a storefront but the seller keeps/ships their own stock or 2) they use Amazon as a storefront AND Amazon holds the business' product in an AMAZON warehouse.

As a consumer, you have to be cautious when businesses that want to sell on Amazon opt to use option #1 simply because of the fact that how they obtain their product can vary. This especially matters when you deal with products that have expiration dates. Ever been to a flea market? For those of you that have, many of you know that various merchants at flea markets can obtain their stock through closeouts, business closings, clearance, etc. And much of that stock, especially when dealing with consumables, have expiration dates that are either upcoming or already expired. In the case of batteries, we all know they have expiration dates and it's a glaring concern that when you buy things like batteries, you have to be concerned about how fresh they are and if they aren't, how much longer they will last. There are many reviews on Amazon of people complaining about "bad batteries" but because multiple sellers (including Amazon) can sell the same battery... which means all the reviews are all clumped under the same product. So that "bad" review that you read probably came from someone who bought a "bad" product from a "bad" vendor.

Being an Amazon Prime member, I always try & find a product that is eligible for Prime shipping. Sometimes Prime items don't always have the best price, but it guarantees you a fast shipping date and a fulfillment by Amazon that we Amazon customers all love. But a smart consumer will also follow the rule that without sufficient evidence, if a price is too good to be true, then it likely is.

In the case of these batteries Duracell AAA Alkaline Batteries, 20 Count, I ended up paying $5 more than the cheapest advertised price because I chose to buy from Amazon and not a 3rd party seller. Reasons being peace of mind (no flea market stock), excellent returns policy, and the opportunity to take advantage of Prime shipping.

Most Duracell retail battery packaging now states that it's "Guaranteed Fresh" for 7 years. Some Duracell packaging even has a production stamp of when it was manufactured. If it's not, a good way to calculate of when the battery was made was take the year date that's on the battery itself and subtract 7 years. That's what year your battery was made. Obviously the closer the date is to the year expiration date on the battery, the less "fresh" it is. But in my case, these batteries have a timestamp of 2018... which means it was made in 2011. Testing a couple of these puppies in my battery tester at home shows that they have a nice full charge meaning I can be assured that these are good in whatever device I put them in.

1The great exploding batteries...
By Andrea Sivertson
I bought these despite seeing some negative reviews because of the great price... I wish I had listened! I put 4 of these batteries in my TV remote a few weeks ago and was very annoyed to see the "remote battery low" message still on the TV. The remote still worked, though, so I left them in. Tonight as I was flipping through channels I heard and felt a "pop", and opened up my remote to find battery fluid everywhere... one of the batteries had actually exploded open while my the remote was in my hand! Even worse, I was holding my baby daughter!! SO NOT SAFE!! Duracell will be getting a call from me in the morning. DO NOT BUY - there is something wrong with these batteries!!
