4Syma X1 Quad Bind Process / Radio not working
By Amazon Customer
Hey fellow owners and potential owners!

Noticed others are having the same problem my buddies and I had when I first received the Syma X1 Quad, they should UPDATE THE INSTRUCTIONS ASAP

I had an issue with the radio transmitter not binding with the Syma X1 quad and there IS A EASY SOLUTION.
The instructions are lacking in this area and are responsible I'm sure with a lot of frustration and probably returns.
In between my friends and I we have over 6 of these to date, they all work with this procedure that I quickly wrote for another amazon user.

SYMA X1 QUAD - RADIO TRANSMITTER BIND PROCESS

IMPORTANT SOLUTION TO ALL OWNERS - RADIO NOT WORKING WITH THE SYMA X1 QUAD

1. CONNECT BATTERY TO QUAD, THE LED WILL FLASH SLOWLY
2. LED WILL BEGIN TO FLASH RAPIDLY,.... IMMEDIATELY TURN ON RADIO TRANSMITTER
3. LED IS SOLID, BIND PROCESS COMPLETE. READY TO FLY

After connecting the battery to the quad the led will begin to flash slowly. Have the radio ready because the led will soon begin to flash quickly looking for a radio signal. As soon as the led begins to flash quickly immediately turn on radio. The Syma Quad led on the board will then be a SOLID on indicating the bind process is complete. You are now ready to fly or crash your quad. You only have to do this bind process once. From now on you can turn the radio transmitter on first and then connect the battery to the quad.
** It's important to have the quad on a level surface once you connect the battery so the gyros know what is level, do this EVERY TIME **

4how to switch from mode 1 to mode 2
By Custom Communications
Excellent little machine. When I first turned it on and tried to fly, it flew sideways into the wall. Tried several times with the same result.

solution: First, make sure that transmitter is off. Place battery into unit and immediately place it on the floor or other level surface. Wait for unit to stop flashing rapidly and is flashing slow, THEN make sure that throttle is off and turn on the transmitter, unit will pair with a steady light and an audible beep.

Happy flying. Remember it is a 4 channel. I have yet to flip it, just not enough room where I fly indoors and I have yet to determine where the 'A' button is to change it from mode 1 to 2.

FOUND IT!! thankfully!!

Transmitter off
Hold right horizontal trim button to the right
Power on transmitter
release trim button
display now reads Mode 2

Myself... I am so much happier with the unit now that I found mode 2. I am used to flying coaxials in this mode and find it instinctive making the unit that much more fun to fly.

And yes, I have also flipped it without crashing. Make sure that you have plenty of room because after the flip, it will travel 8-10' in the direction of the flip.

After a few days, crashing it numerous times, still intact and would recommend this to flyers with experience flying coaxials first. Throttle is the most important control of all types of crafts.

happy flying!

5Tough and Great flying machine
By furnic
This is an incredible tough little flying machine and a great way to get in to the world of RC flying and quad copters.
I have purchased various indoor and outdoor RC flying toys and this is the first one that has made it intact after the first week.

First the toy, it comes with a decent 2.4ghz transmitter with a short rubber antenna which can't break unlike the old steel ones of years gone by. The flying instructions look quite complicated but who really reads a manual anyhow and the only way to learn is by practice and it does take a while.

The Quad comes fully assembled and once charged it is ready to fly. Charging time is about an hour and flight time is over 10 minutes. I think continuous fly time would be around 6 - 7 minutes but it will be a good few days until you can keep it in the air for over 1 minute.

We have crashed this endless times, landed in the tallest of trees, got tangled in branches, my garden is now littered with long poles made out of bamboo and pool cleaners to knock this out of 12 meter high trees and still it goes on flying.

It will take about 2 - 3 days until you get the hang of the controller (if you new to this) so if you can keep the temptation down, try and fly and hover just over head high to start off with.
Re the flying, it can do amazing things - it will hover in one spot, turn 360 degrees and circle, go forward and backwards (this takes a bit of time to master) it has a button to do front and side flips, everyone goes ahhhhhhhh when you do them.

The highest I have taken this up is around 33 meters (about a 100 feet), I don't think it will go much higher and the wind at that height gets a bit strong and I'm scared in may just fly away so I haven't ventured that high for too long.
My longest continuous flight so far, after a week, is about 4 minutes long.

after a week, there are still one or two buttons that I'm not sure exactly what they do, I think they may be to assist with the stabilizing - it is quite important when starting up to start it on a very level surface, if not, it just won't fly nicely.
I have also managed to fly it with a keychain spy camera, so it can do some basic FPV photography and its quite fun getting a birds eye view of your property.
If it survives another week of trees and crashing (though crashing a lot less now)then I will buy more batteries as once you get the hang of flying then waiting an hour to recharge can get a bit frustrating.

5Best screen I have installed so far
By Kevin S.
I have been replacing screens for iPhones as a side business since the 1st gen iPhone back in 2007. This has been the most OEM like screen I have ever installed, especially for the iPhone 4. The glass is silky smooth and feels like it has the oleophobic coating just like the OEM's (it doesn't, but feels like it, and oil wipes off a little easier than one that doesn't). The display is bright, the proximity sensor works better than the original (it actually works). Overall I'm very glad that I got this screen for myself when my screen shattered after a rough fall while snowboarding. I'll absolutely recommend that any customers I have that want to replace their screens go with this one, even if they had a black iPhone.

Note that this screen is only for the AT&T iPhone 4, as mentioned by the reviewer below.

1Too many defects
By ML
This is the 5th LCD replacement I buy and install. Having a house full of teenagers, the LCDs are a big commodity in my household.
This is the worst quality LCD I received so far. There is a white stripe at the top of the LCD, A finger like stain in the middle of the screen and a couple of dead pixels.
I'm not expecting Apple quality on these replacement models but I expect them to at least be defect free.

4Quality product that installed easily *Ordered from seller EPC USA*
By KR
NOTE: I purchased this from Amazon seller "EPC USA". I cannot vouch for other sellers offering this product.

This screen came with a set of tools, most of which were useful. The screwdriver began stripping toward the end of the installation, but lasted for the entire installation.

I installed this screen in about 20 minutes using a youtube instructional video. Be very careful with the connectors. The screen has two flat connectors, which must be carefully aligned and pressed onto the phone connector very firmly. If the connector is even slightly loose, the screen or sensor may not work properly, and you will have to disassemble the phone again.

The screen picture quality is very good... only a very small difference in color reproduction from the original screen. Sharpness (regarding the iphone4) is the same.

Touchscreen performance is just as good as the original screen.

I did notice that the replacement is not as fingerprint-resistant as the original screen (not a major problem).

I had to replace the screen twice, both times using this product. The first replacement screen cracked upon dropping..... and the replacement glass does not appear to be as durable as the original iphone glass.

The screen does seem to be very slightly thicker. The Home button is slightly more recessed in this screen than it was in the original screen. For this, the lower durability, and the lack of fingerprint resistance - I give this 4 stars instead of 5.

Overall, this is a quality product and a much better DIY alternative to paying $100+ for a replacement screen, or $300+ for a replacement phone.

5Finally the proud owner of a Nokia Lumia 920 (international version)
By Pelico
The 5 stars rating is as much for the seller (Mega Mobile) as it is for the phone. The phone is a true RM-821 (international unlocked). It looks like it came from HK. Everything is in Chinese (even the documentation). Took me only a couple of minutes to remove the Chinese setting, and replace it with English, and another language. It seems that the phone supports just about any language, and it's really easy to change language setting. (for some language, it requires a download, but with wi-fi it's not an issue).

What can I say, the phone is incredible, very responsive, has Nokia Drive, Office, a great camera,... ( the list is too long to write here).

The phone is great. but trying to buy the phone was a very frustrating experience. Amazon has a page with one phone specification, and several sellers. Unfortunately some sellers try to sell you an AT&T unlocked for an international version. I found that it's very important for reviewers to start the review with the seller, what was ordered, and what was received. This will tremendously help people who want to buy the international version.

I had contact with 4 sellers:
1. Hollywood Merchandise (fulfill by Amazon); sold me an AT&T unlocked RM-820(it was advertised as international, factory unlocked). Returned the phone. Thank to Amazon, the process was painless got my money back right away.
2. Mega Mobile; sold me this phone, and it is as advertised (international, factory unlocked, RM-821)

In between I was in contact with:
1. Tablets Distributors; As per their e-mail to me they sell AT&T unlocked phones.
2. Global Mobiles; As per their e-mail to me they sell international unlocked phones (RM-821) that come from Europe.Their answer came after I ordered from Mega Mobiles.

I hope this helps, the potential buyers who like me want a Nokia Lumia 920 international factory unlocked, but are at a loss as to what seller to buy it from.

Update 6/13/13: The phone seems to have the latest updates; OS 8.0.10211.204, firmware: 1232.5957.1308.0004.

One thing I forgot to mention about the seller, is that since the plug that was inside the Nokia box was incompatible with the U.S plug outlets. he added a U.S. adapter plug inside the box he sent me (nice touch).

Update 11/21/13: Several week ago I installed the Amber update. Made a Great phone even better. Can't wait for the next 2 updates which will be available in the next few months.

I liked the phone so much that I bought a second one for a family member. This time I bought the phone from 'The wireless circle'. The phone was as advertised (international version RM-821), and came several days ahead of schedule. This time the phone was from Czechoslovakia. Not a problem as it took only a couple of seconds to change to English (I had already downloaded the English manual for the phone), and actually better for me as it came with an European plug (it also have an US adapter in the box).

Update 1/16/14: I would like to clarify few things for potential buyers:

1. There are no factory unlocked Lumia phones built for the U.S market.

2. Due to the above, buying a factory unlocked Lumia phone in the U.S. is buying from a grey market.

3. There is no warranty on those phones, and they are not sealed.

4. These phones come from all over the world, and will be in the language of the intended market. Plus it will have some built-in apps (put there by Nokia) that target the local market the phone was intended for. That doesn't mean that the phone was used.

5. Setting the phone to your desired language, downloading the user's guide in your desired language and removing the local apps is a matter of minutes.

6. The plug will be a plug for the intended market, but there will always be a U.S. adapter in the box. That might one the reason why the box is not sealed.

I have bought 4 Lumias (2x 720 and 2x 920) from Amazon (received 6, returned 2 - one was defective, this other was AT&T unlocked). They came from all over; Hong-Kong, Germany, Taiwan, and Czechoslovakia. I am very happy with my purchases, and will do it again.

At $320 the Lumia 920 has great specs and is a great deal. If you want to buy a Lumia phone, my advice is:

1. Buy the phone fulfilled by Amazon. It might be a little more expensive, but if there is any problem Amazon is much easier to deal with (I received my refunded Money before they received the phone), than if you buy it fulfill by any other seller.

2. Even if you buy the phone fulfilled by Amazon, contact the seller to make sure that the phone he sells is what is advertised on the web page.

4Great device, but still has some weak points
By Miguel
The Lumia 920 is a solid device. The built quality is amazing, and it feels like a tank. Is heavier than most average smartphone (or even some phablets), but when holding it, you know it can't be broken easily.
The interface is fluid and fresh, although the customization options are limited to tile size and color.

Pros:
- Camera: the best smartphone camera I have seen in my life
- Nokia apps and services: Specially Maps (Nokia Here) and camera-realated apps.
- Windows Phone Marketplace: Many people complains about lack of apps. I found everything I need (mostly free and with no ads).

Cons:
- No LED notification: coming from BB, this is something I really miss, and I don't know why this is a missing feature on almost every modern smartphone.
- Battery: It charges slow (very slow), and discharges fast (really fast). It took 3 hours to charge from 60% to 100% with a 2 amp wall charger. The discharge rate is more than 10% per hour (with regular use, no automatic backups/updates, low level screen brightness and only 2 backgroud apps running), so I cannot get more than 10 hours of juice.
- WP8 still feels a little half-baked. Hopefully MS fixes some glitches in the upcoming updates. For example, inhability to close tasks more efficiently, the "search" soft button takes me to Bing, instead of search stuff inside the device, etc.

Also, I must say that the seller (Heavy Duty Electronics) gave me an excellent service. The device was exactly as advertised and came in a sealed box, 100% brand new, and factory unlocked.
