Great on the road, not so great around town
By M. Ayars
I'm on a 3 month RV trip traveling to Florida. I like the weather alerts that tell you where you are relative to the alert, I like the RV routing and the updated maps and points of interest like gas stations. This replaced an older Garmin, so I like the directions logic.
However, especially in metropolitan areas, it tends to freeze, but not tell you it's having an issue. You keep going waiting for a voice prompt for a turn, then look at the map display and realize it's back at your last turn. You have to return to the map main menu then go to the map display again, and then it recalculates your route.
Not sure if it's a bug, but if it keeps doing this I will talk to Garmin about it.
UPDATE: I downloaded a software update that seems to have resolved the freeze issues.

Great RV dedicated GPS!
By Brian C Domian
We bought this for use in our Tiffin Allegro and its fantastic to have an up to date GPS specifically for an RV. I realize that this is a new application for the Garmin trucking line but it works great just like the Zumo I have for my motorcycles Garmin has done a fantastic job of tailoring for the intended user. It is easy to set this up for the specifics of your RV and to also switch into the auto mode. The Bluetooth interface with my iPhone works great and the weather data is fantastic (especially the radar presentation). The only small recommendation I have is that you probably want one of the "bean bag" mounts as for most RV's the suction cup mount on the windshield is probably too far away for easy use.

Great GPS - as expected from Garmin!
By Charlie
My wife and I used this RV GPS on our trip from CT to FL, and it worked flawlessly! We have a 26' long Chalet Truck Camper when sitting on my Ford F350 dually, and it is 12'-3" tall. It routed us, with our guidance, across Rt 64 W to Scranton, PA, then down 81 to 77 to 95 completely missing any traffic or low bridges! What we particularly liked is that when the speed limit changed, a tone sounded and a small banner on top notified you of the change, and how soon. Also, a similar banner appeared when you were 5 miles from a state border. One of the nicest features is a 'rolling exit'. This happened only a couple of times, but it was when the exit was particularly challenging, and it simulated 'moving' lanes, not a static picture, and which one to be in to take the correct exit - spectacular!!' Another great feature was the 'pop up gas/bank/food' icons along the route. I also checked out numerous campgrounds, and they were all listed, with full site information including telephone numbers to make reservations! I have had several Garmin GPS's, and this one is truly the best, and clearly embodies all the best features from its previous generations! Would highly recommend!
