I will admit that i was skeptical about buying a wii U because I love my self built gaming pc and my ps4. but i love mario games and party games in general and so do my niece and nephew. so i bought this and must say that its a lot of fun. the gamepad is really fun too and its great that you can play on it without needing the tv for certain games. Even better, i can plug the Wii U into my car and have my family play on the gamepad when we go on long trips. its a lot of fun and cant wait for the new smash bros to come out. i bought it for 250 then sold skylanders for 50 so i basically paid 200 for this. you cant go wrong with that. the only thing i dont like is that some games dont allow you to use the pro controller and force you to use the Wii motion controller. just doesnt make sense. also, dont like that you cant buy another gamepad at the moment, and if it does become available its gonna cost more that 175$

This is probably one of the best deals for the Wii U that you can find that is out there. Easy set up, kids seem to love it. Would definitely recommend it

First off let me say that with respects to getting more bang for your buck, this is THE best Wii U bundle out there. If you're kind of on the fence about the system, get this bundle. It's even cheaper than the basic set, even though it comes with 2 games, a starter kit, a poster, stickers, & trading cards.
I've been wanting a Wii U ever since it launched, & I'm not disappointed in the slightest! This system is great & offers lots to do. The gamepad feels so good to hold, it's light, but built like a tank. Gotta love that Nintendo quality lol. You may think it's sensitive because of how it looks, with that huge screen exposed, but it's actually pretty tough even without any added protection. I wasn't sure how the dual screen gimmick would feel, & honestly I thought it'd be weird but it's easy to get use to. When you get the hang of it it's way more fun than gaming on only one screen lol.
The system itself is a little bigger than the Wii, but so much slicker. Twice as much USB ports, & full backwards compatibility with all the Wii's cables, games & peripherals. If you already owned a Wii like me, you're gonna save a ton & have extra backup equipment in the event that something breaks, ceases to function etc.
The software & Operating System is awesome! Wii U chat is the AWSOME! I ran Skype on my PC side by side Wii U chat at the same time with a buddy. Here's the results:
Skype:
- blurry video
- audio distortion
- dropped calls
- freezing
Wii U
- crispy clear visuals
- clear, very loud audio
- super stable, maintained perfectly while Skype dropped calls due to connection (same connection that Wii U chat was running on at the same time)
- absolutely no freezing
Other great software include Miiverse. Awesome gaming community where you can share screenshots, comments, add friends, follow gamers & their feed, post your art, video clips etc. It's pretty clean. The Wii U web browser is a HUGE upgrade over the original Wii. The browser is FAST. Sometimes faster than my PC. It also loads & plays videos from various sites other than youtube. The Wii couldn't play online video at all until the youtube app, & then youtube was all it could play. The Wii U has a youtube app as well, but the browser can play a variety of online video types including youtube so it's youtube app is kinda pointless. The browser also buffers a lot faster than my PC & plays videos smoother. I know what you're thinking, my PC is garbage, no it's not, & I'm in the I.T field so I know what I'm talking about lol.
Graphics. The graphics are a gigantic leap over the Wii. No comparison whatsoever. You'll want to stare at how gorgeous everything is now more than you actually want to play lol. If we're talking about graphics, we may as well talk about games. It comes with Nintendo Land & Skylanders Swap Force. Nintendo Land is a fun mini game experience, but it's pretty shallow to a hardcore gamer. Skylanders shocked me however. I thought it'd be a kiddie game, & maybe it is, but I'm hooked! The game is pretty cool, & it looks & plays fantastic! The idea of the action figures & swapping their parts to create new fighters is just too awesome. Even the portal you get to connect to the Wii U looks pretty as hell.
The Wii U's library is pretty solid, with some GREAT games. I'll be picking up a few next week. Here's a list of some of the must have games for Wii U that I'll be picking up:

I should also mention that online gaming on the Wii U is 100% free, while PS4 & Xbone users have to pay, so that's a plus.
Now for the things I DON'T like. First off, there's a HUGE update you need to download immediately after turning it on, which enables all your online features & software. The update took me 5 hours. A lot of people had to wait an entire day, others sleeping while it updated overnight. It's ridiculously large, which leads to my second problem. Memory. After all the updates (you'll most likely be downloading updates every time you try some software or game for the first time. Welcome to Next Gen -_-), you're left with almost no space at all with this bundle. I have 2GB left. It's way more than the Wii ever had, but still, it was an 8GB set. I thought I'd have more than that left over. Luckily this thing takes SD cards, flash drives, & HDDs so memory isn't a big issue, but it annoyed me.
Another thing I hated was region-locking. I live in the Caribbean, so I have no choice but to portray myself as an American online & in my online games, if I want to have access to the eshop's content, since it's blocked in 3rd world countries. It's dumb because you realize that if you can just lie about your location & still access it from where you're REALLY at, why the HELL didn't they just give everyone the same access in the first place?! It frustrated me, as I wanted to rep my country, not America. I'm an expert levelled gamer. When I rack up my wins & streaks, I don't want people to think it's an American. I want people to know my country kicks butt too -_- . The simplest but biggest gripe I had with this console is...THE STAND O_O
These bastards included a stand for the console in the delux sets only! How absurd is that?! Remember when ANY & EVERY Wii you bought came with a stand?! PSH well not any more mister, you want two cheap pieces of plastic to prop up your Wii U, you're gonna have to cough up $50-70 extra an get the delux set! They don't even sell the stand separately! Gaaaaah! Anyway, just grab a 3rd party stand if ya need one. It's cheap, but still annoying as you shouldn't have to pay for a damn stand in the first place.
All in all I give the Wii U a 8.5/10 & deem it a solid piece of hardware. It lost points for region locking, not including a stand, poor internal memory (they could've done a little better even though it's flash memory), & one other thing I forgot to mention. The dead beat battery life of the Gamepad -_-
