1this would have been a 5 star review (it was 3, now 2...see update) - another update
By Greg Mathios
Update:I got the replacement pair, they worked one day only and stopped working in the same manner as the first pair. I'm dropping to 2 stars from 3 and will try to replace one more time. I guess I'm hoping that they just have a high percentage of faulty devices rather than a design problem.

2nd Update: I give up, I want to like these, but they have a lifespan of somewhere between 2-14 days. Just returned pair #3. Could just be the 3 pairs I went through, but I doubt it. Major design or manufacturing flaw happening here. I'll wait for Sport++ I guess.

I wanted to rate these 5 stars, because they were everything that I was looking for in bluetooth headphones...
Then they stopped working entirely after 2 weeks.

It seems that there are 5 important categories to rate BT Headphones

1. BT connectivity
2. Sweat resistance
3. Sound quality
4. Fit
5. Form factor

I have had a number of blue tooth headsets that have all been failures for one reason or another. Here's how the Jabra Sport+ worked in each category.

Bluetooth: You'll often see reviews where people write that you need to have you phone/music player on the left or right side of your body. This is ridiculous to me. I want the bluetooth connection to be near perfect when the I'm with 2 feet of the device. Sadly, not all seem to be able to do this. I refrained from buying the original Jabra sport because too many reviews complained about BT connectvity. For the 2 weeks they worked, the Jabra SPORT+ bluetooth connection was near perfect. 5 Stars for BT connectivity.

Sweat Resistance:I sweat like a fat Greek running on a treadmill. Mostly because I'm a fat Greek that runs on a treadmill. This was a fatal failure for my similarly styled Plantronics unit. Sweat caused the unit to die after about 10 minutes into every workout. The Jabra Sport+ never failed due to sweat. 5 Stars for sweat resistance.

Sound Quality:At first I was disappointed, then I spent the afternoon trying all the ear piece covers. When you get the right ones, you'll find the sound is pretty good. Bear in mind it's pretty good for a BT unit that is intended for workouts. It's not like a wired unit, and it's not like an over the ear (earmuff-like) set. It gets 5 stars for it's type in the sound quality category.

Fit: I don't wear glasses, but I sometime wear sunglasses when I run, and I had no problem. Other than that, as mentioned above, when you get the right ear pieces on (the unit includes like 10 types) they fit very well. Then stay put when your're jogging and they're comfortable and that's what I wanted. 5 Stars.

Form Factor: These are exactly what I was looking for, so this may be more more of a 5 star review for my preference. Here's what I like. I wanted the hook-over-the-ear, and I wanted the loose cable behind the neck. The former because ear muff like units get very hot for workouts, and the latter because you can't lay down on a weight bench with the rigid bar behind the neck like you see on the motorola units or the rest-on-your-neck style like the LG ones. Also the buttons are accessible and responsive and usable while jogging. I was never able to operate the buttons on the Plantronics headsets, to small, too rigid. These worked great. I give Form Factor 5 stars.

Couple of other things...
These have an FM radio. I never used it, wouldn't care if it wasn't there.

These take/make voice calls. I didn't intend to use them for this, and if they didn't have this feature I would have purchased anyway. But when I used them for some calls that came in while I was wearing them, I was very impressed, they worked very well for this feature that I wasn't particularly interested in.

BUT, then they crapped out entirely after only 2 weeks...Initially I was listening to music and noticed the volume control wasn't working, I figured I'd turn them off and back on. Well I turned them off and they never came back...so they don't get 5 Stars. I'm giving them 3 for now. Because everything was great until they failed. AND I'm hoping it was a flukey bad pair.

Amazon gets 5 Stars as usual, for replacing the broken ones in 2 days.

1Good Product with Big Reliability Issue
By Ckc
Before I begin, you should know this is actually a 4 star product that went down to 1 star because of durability/reliability issue. And I don't usually write review, but I am compelled to write this one because I believe any company should deliver what they promised in their brochure.

Before my purchase, I had checked out many other earphones and read many reviews on Jabra Sport+ Wireless earphone. Despite there are several negative reviews regarding its poor reliability/durability, I decided to take a gamble because there is one feature that I particularly value. That is their non IEM (non in-ear) design. To me, this is a very important safety feature because I am a road runner in Hong Kong and I need to hear traffic coming.

So on 19/10/2013, I bough this earphone. My first impression with this product is quite positive. It is light, comfortable and fits very securely on my ear (once I changed to a suitable eargel). Bluetooth connection is easy and done in 2 mins (including time to read quick start). To my pleasant surprise, it comes with an armband that fit my blackberry 9900 perfectly. During my run (3 miles), it didn't fall out and everything just works. Sound quality is mediocre though, but acceptable for me. In a nutshell, everything was good and I would have gave it a 4 or 4.5 star.

But then problems began after 10 days. In fact, there are so many problems, I do not know where to begin. First, 10 days after my purchase (six 30 mins running session), whilst I was running, it suddenly stopped working. Blue and Red LED indicator both signaled simultaneously, and it would not turn off untill battery was dead. I waited till next day, recharged it and turned it on, the earphone was back in working order. But there was static noise coming out, radio button is no longer responsive. Bluetooth connection was a bit tricky hereafter (Need to perform factory reset, delete connection profile.. .Blah blah blah ). Once I managed to connect it, it worked for 20 mins untill it broke down again. Waited till next day, it would somehow work again, but broke down after awhile. This is my third week with this earphone now, I am stuck in this loop of malfunction. Sometime it works, sometime it doesn't. Pure frustration.

Now I am no engineer or electronic expert, but I strongly believe all this malfunction is due to sweat. I do sweat moderately and I used this earphone in Hong Kong (humid condition), but isn't sweat resistance & ruggedness a big part of its selling point. I already contacted customer service through email and they replied me within an hour, but it's just instruction on how to reset everything and it seems like a "copy and paste" reply. Due to my earphone was actually bought from a store in HK, they adviced me to talk to the local distributer as they cannot perform any refund or repair. (Fair point, but I would prefer them to take more initative in having a satisfied customer)

Conclusion: If the above reliability problem is solved, I am sure this is a good earphone and perfect for city road runner. But as of today (7th November, 2013), I recommend people to stay away as I strongly believe the above issues are very likely to be a batch wide issue.

2Disappointed so Far
By Brian
Update 1/15/2014 - The first thing I would like to say is that Amazon customer support is awesome. I received a second pair by mid-September and they seemed to work ok. For various reasons I stayed out of the gym in Nov and Dec. I just restarted and the headphones lasted exactly 1.5 workouts before the same problem happened. Power button and volume buttons stopped working. I agree with most everyone else's reviews. Great product, great idea, but horrible dependability. For something like this I would expect to last maybe a year based on usage but they just do not seem to be able to handle any sweat at all.

I have had these about two weeks. They were great at first. Only thing I did not like is that I have smaller ears so the loop over felt a little loose. Not too bad though. I used them for primarily gym and mountain biking. They were great because they fit in my full face helmet for downhill riding. After a week however they suddenly lose connection with my phone. Eventually I got them reconnected and thought nothing of it. About 3 workouts later they did it again and now the power button was not working. Eventually I got them reconnected but the power button still did not work and after about 10 minutes they lost bluetooth connection again and eventually just ran out of power. In the process of getting them sent back. I'm going to try a second pair and hope this was an oddity. As a comparison I had the Jaybird Bluebuds X and liked these better. They had a much more comfortable fit and the sound quality for me was not that much less. Especially since they did not drown everything else out. However the Jaybirds seems to do better with the sweat.
